  1. Does anyone have direction on where to look in creating a covered screened in porch above a flat roof garage? The garage proposed is a 2 car and client wants the porch to be half the roof above and the other half deck over the second further car from house. The entry into the covered porch is off the DR of the floor above. It's a split level home and elevation drops off in back enough to get the cars under the proposed porch/deck. I tried by creating piers in the garage and a beam to rest the gable end of the porch on between the cars below. I then built exterior walls and thought I'd introduce multiple Combination Screen Dooor company's doors as fixed panels. Of course they don't have an object I can use, nor are there any screen doors. I thought I'd place a two panel door and replace the panels with screen, but again no screen material in library. Any thoughts to this goal or shedding light on the obvious would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Actually eliminating a roof over the foundation for the bump out did prevent the program from sending the foundation walls to the eaves at the abutting walls of the existing house. thanks.
  3. Hi, I tried those options and think I understand what you are suggesting. In the menu, it is reading that the portion that goes to the eaves is identified as an attic wall rather than foundation wall. I can delete it but it doesn't help me to understand or avoid it happening later. Thanks.
  4. I can't figure out how to stop the foundation walls from reaching all the way to the eaves on the second floor when adding a bump out addition. There doesn't seem to be a setting to make it recognize the overhang is the roof and to stop at the first floor. Any suggestions?
  5. I would think an improvement might be to add the dimension in the editing screen at least. In that screen it would be a simple change like a window or door dimension rather than fiddling around with a line or trying to find a handle.
  6. I'm trying to figure out why I can sometimes click on a dimension on screen and type in the new dimension and other times not find where to click. Am I missing something? I can't find any clear answer in the user guides. Trying to pull a line can be really tedious while simply typing in a number is a sure thing.
  7. I was actually trying to use the USGS website that connects with a third party that translates their cvg files or text output files. I couldn't get it to work. Local municipal website Map Geo had good elevations but not downloadable.
  8. Does anyone know how to download terrain data from either google or USGS?
  9. Unfortunately, it's not working. I did all the required section view, change to lower wall with abutting roof and siding still remains on lower section??
  10. I vaulted the ceilings of an interior 1 st floor room that joins against a two story addition. The siding on the second floor is showing below the roof line on the interior and I can't figure out how to turn it into drywall without losing the exterior siding above the roofline. I've tried to make the wall go to the ceiling, changed it to an attic wall, and made sure the roofline was butting to the wall interupting the siding at the roof line but all to no success. Any ideas?
