Hello I am looking to see if anyone is using any type of remote software . What I would like to do is give my client the ability to see my screen as I make changes . I know IT type companies use this all the time to make repairs and so forth , I looked into team viewer but was not very clear in how it works . I want to be able to have my clients see my screen when chief is open and I am making changes for them after sending out an original design . Look forward to learning a little more about this as I know there are lots of companies that can do this but I am looking for the simple that does not require software downloads on the clients end

I would like to know is it possible to share a symbol I have created , My company recently made the investment for all designers to use CA ( I have used on my own for 3 years now) . I have custom cabinets ( work for a custom cabinet shop) I have created and made symbols out of these very custom cabinets to re-use on other designs , now that I have them saved is it possible to share these with the other designers . Thanks

Yes , that is exactly it but a little more angled and a single panel , but I could also do 2 panels if it is easier

I added a shaker square door to my library , then right clicked and was able to get it to lean back at the angle of the hood , Can I modify the door symbol it self so it match the hood profile ? The hood profile angle back and also angles at the sides ?

Can I convert a Cadd line to a door symbol ?

How would I go about applying a door panel or some would call it an applied panel to the front of an angle front wood hood ? This is a custom designed hood and need to show an applied panel to the front but it needs to lean on the hood at an angle Thanks

How do I reverse / flip a molding ? I am building a custom hood for a kitchen and adding molding , What I did was use a sill cap and added a frieze molding below which create the profile I am looking for and would like to mirror that 6" below that but facing up toward the ceiling , What I would like to know is how do you flip that molding so that the desired edge is facing up ward as compared to down ward ,, same thing for the freize molding ? how do i flip it . Hope I am describing what I am trying to do correct

Thanks to all ...... I will get to work on this ! Normally quality Trim Carpenters figure this out but seems these days skilled labor is impossible to find and contractors hire the cheapest cabinet monkey they can find ! Go figure order custom cabinets and hire low skill labor !!

I would like to know if someone can direct me as to how to create a crown molding detail ... I have builders who have requested this due to the trim carpenters making mistakes during installation and it is costing him tons in crown repurchase to correct the mistakes . I design 100% custom so I can adjust top rail sizes , add stop molding and use various size crown molding and would like to be able to show the cad detail for the different installs. Attached is a hand drawn example of what I would like to do in Chief Page 6 of drawings is what I am looking for and if possible the hood page as well Thanks CHOVART FINAL DRAWINGS 09-26.pdf

Hello all , I would like to know if it is possible to create an ADA cabinet , What I am after is a cabinet you would see for a commercial setting ( Hospital) . The typical ADA cabinet calls for a 6" false face ( Drawer front ) and then a panel that leans back to the wall at a forty five degree angle, that would be the Knee space for wheel chair if needed . these are always made as a frame less set up , I can modify any other cabinet as needed but I need to use this cabinet like 30 times for this contract , which I was awarded ( Yes a very large contract ) . Any help would be great so I can add to my Library and just keep re using as needed . Thanks

Hello , I would like to know how do I clip the back of a cabinet , I work / design for a true custom shop and the client has requested a an over depth cabinet but I need to clip the back at an angle ? so I would like to know how to clip the back or separate all the comments of the cabinet? the cabinet is going into an angled Alcove which is why i need to clip it, the front of the cabinet is also angled but that is an easy task , clipping the back is where I am lost

For some reason when I go to elevation views in line drawing I can not get the opening indicator lines to appear on my drawing ? Any suggestions I checked layers and is says they should be displayed.

Attached is a reference picture ,, You can see that on the bottom there is no reveal which is a standard for the cabinets my shop build , on the sides there is a slight reveal , maybe a 1/4" , what I would like to know is how to get a smaller door overlay on the top rail of the cabinet , because we can adjust thing being a custom shop that is where we leave a larger top rail for crown placement. In a common scenario I hold a 42" high upper down one inch from the ceiling because a ceiling is never level. then we make a cabinet with a larger top rail depending on the rise measurement of the crown. some time I will use a 2 piece crown , meaning a small crown stop with a smaller crown molding and when combined looks great , especially is the ceiling is way off , the flex in the crown stop crown combo all but eliminates unsightly lines where the ceiling meets the crown. With that long winded statement what I am trying to do is get the door to only have a 1/4 overlay to the top so the rail size can be adjusted for the correct crown.
-
Is it possible to adjust the rails and reveal independently ? I design cabinets for a true custom cabinet shop , When we design build cabinets we adjust all of our reveals and the top rail height to fit the crown , as an example all of our rails are 1.75 on the face of the cabinet , we have a zero door reveal at the bottom , and a 1/4 reveal on the sides and top , we will adjust the top rail to allow for crown which could be 2.5" 3" what ever the crown size is indicate the the top rail size. I would like to know if this can all be adjusted so I can create a side CAD detail to place on the final turn in drawings we prepare !!!

Thanks to all for the reply ,, that is exactly what i need and what i needed to learn . great people here that are always willing to share

The leg is recessed into the cabinet, when I place it via the cabinet modifications it places on the face 24" + leg equal 27 1/2 depth .. I need the leg to be flush with the front so I would describe it as a right angle chase cut into the cabinet face , the leg needs to be at the corner of the cabinet
-
Hope this helps !!! We do this at our cabinet shop often ( The CADD department does it in cabinet vision , great for Cabinet CNC machine not so much for design) I have a client who would like the leg in the face of the cabinet , best way is a square cut out at the corner of the cabinet
-
I am looking for a solution to creating a square leg chase in a cabinet ! I would like to apply a leg to the front of a cabinet , example a 3' x 3' leg from the catalog . When i select apply post to the face of the cabinet it apply it to the face therfore making the cabinet deeper like an off set post ! I would like it integrated into the cabinet face . Not seeing where I can modify a base cabinet to complete this and figure I could get an answer from an advanced user
-
I placed all base cabinets , then created one single top , then put the arc at the outer edge, then I clicked on the entire top and then the create custom hole ? you can see it cut the hole but left the front edge of the top?

I am designing a kitchen and created a custom counter top , I then need to create an opening for the apron front sink , in the picture you can see the issue I am having is it is leaving the front edge of the counter and when I place the sink in the cabinet it still shows up ? How would I get that to do away ! I cut the whole using the counter top tool !! Thanks
