I have been working on the walls and I still cant get the one lined up right! I'm going to keep at it! I'll post it when I think I have it so maybe you'll catch anything else. ( I know there is a lot lol) I didn't know that about the door at the top of the stairs so I can just remove that, and I'm looking to see how I can move things around so the plumbing is a bit easier to handle. I hadn't even thought about the width of the stairs! Excellent point! I have to look that over more carefully. They are my access enemy! lol (sorry wheelchair joke) I don't use them so I thought that seemed wide enough, I'll rethink that. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my plan, I really appreciate it!

I don't know Jo-ann but I will definitely look her up! I went in and fixed the walls that you pointed out all but one. At the back of the house(pool side) The short exterior wall will not line up with the interior wall! I have messed with both and they just refuse to line up perfectly. I also followed the instructions that you linked to and I think I got started anyway. I'd like to share it but it says that the file is too big?! Stupid thing included 2 copies,,,so here it is new_house_1_12d843652bf70abd3e3429444a710dbf04b526d7.zip

Hello IButtery I was on that forum and was told to come here instead....lol Well I'll follow both then! I have noticed that some of the menus don't look like mine at all or have items labeled differently. I hate to spend money on a new program when I'm only using it for this house.

I realized that I hadn't finished switching the rooms around on both sides, so I stayed up and got that corrected and posted the new plan. Kbird I will get that info in my signature asap. I didn't realize it didn't transfer between the chief sites. I had originally only put the garage, pool and barn in so that I could show a contractor how I needed them to be accessible in all weather for me.(I'm in a wheelchair and want to be able to get to all three places on my own even in winter) But now I would like to complete them so that I have a clearer picture of materials and cost. Of course it will now be more complicated! Seems to be that way with every step in this building process. This is about the eighth house design I've done and I think I'm finally happy with the overall space but there are many little things that I keep finding. Thanks so much for taking your time to look at it! Any advice is appreciated.:) new_house_1_auto_save.zip

Thank you I will watch/read more of those. I have been watching many of them and reading all I can but it looks so much easier than it really is when I try to do it. I have learned a lot reading things on here as well.

How do I get the roof to be like it would in an attic? I think it would require that the side walls be made a lower height or the ceiling?
-
It worked!! I got them on the third try! I was hyperventilating when the baseboards were 24" high! But I figured it out. I was so happy and my family looks at me like "wow you moved moldings...good for you" They do not get it! Thank you so much for you help Chopsaw!!

I want to have a finished attic master bedroom with bath but as you know the program won't let me build up there. Is there a way around this?

Hello! I am learning so much reading all of the posts here so thank you all for sharing your knowledge! I figured out that I had to change the defaults to get the 10' ceilings that I wanted and it worked great! BUT...the crown moldings have stayed at the 8' height and I can not figure out how to move them up? I'm sure there is something in the defaults I have missed but I can't find it. Thanks so much for any help and please remember I need basic or step by step instructions because I get lost in this program!
