Sorry for the delayed response. I usually do hand drawn lines but not against vector view. -
Custom Two Panel Cabinet Door — Adjustable Split?
CooksDesign replied to CooksDesign's topic in General Q & A
Renerabbit...I don't use Vector view so it might work -
Hi everyone, I'm working in Chief Architect X16 Premier and I'm looking for a cabinet door symbol that has two panels, where I can adjust the height of the upper and lower panels independently (not a fixed 50/50 split). Ideally, I'd like to be able to control the proportion between the two panels without having to create a custom door from scratch every time. I need to apply a Wood-Mode door style, so it’s not just a simple shaker or basic door. I thought I remembered seeing something from Renerabbitt or others that might fit this, but I haven't been able to find it yet. If anyone has a symbol like this or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. I'm still getting the hang of posting questions here, so if I've posted in the wrong section, please be gentle — and feel free to give me a nudge in the right direction if needed. Also, I'm not super savvy with creating doors using polylines and moldings, but I’ll definitely give that a shot once I figure out how to launch the space shuttle. Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much MarkMc for the thorough explanation. It's a bit more complicated than what I was looking for. We use one cabinet manufacturer so the codes are pretty consistent with the exception of the "custom cabinets" in which I would probably just replace the labels manually and add a code for that cabinet in the object information field that will cross reference the correct normenclature in the cabinet schedule and note the finished ends, etc in object information comment field. Perhaps I can make a library of those cabinets. I am using CA catalog cabinets as the manufacturer catalog do not change dynamically. At this point it's probably just easier to manually change them vs having them dynamically change. I appreciate all your help but it's above my education level of CA.

Renerrabbbit, when I enter the code you gave me it comes back as B33. Here again, I think I either typed something wrong or am missing something. %automatic_label[0..1].include?("SB") && type[0] == 'B' ? ('BSC' << ((height - countertop_thickness).to_f.to_i.to_s) << width.to__f.to_i.to_s) : automatic_label%

solver I think I am missing something or I have typed something incorrect. %automatic_label 'BSC' << (((height - countertop_thickness).to_f).to_i).to_s << width.to_f.to_i.to_s : automatic_label%

You are amazing. I will figure out how to do the macros. Thank you so much.

I am working in X15 and love the dynamic cabinet labels but I would like to use my cabinet manufacturers nomenclatures instead of the defaults. For example the sink base cabinet by default says SB33 which I would like to it say BSC3334. I can remove SB and insert width BSC33" but I don't want the inch symbols after it. I would like my label to say BSC3334 (even though the height is 34 1/2") so when I run report or schedule my assistant can just enter what is called out on the print.

2022 Options for measuring and importing into chief
CooksDesign replied to CooksDesign's topic in General Q & A
I might have better luck trying to find a unicorn. This would be more for qualifying or preliminary designs. Canvas offers a service in which you can scan on your phone although it takes about a week to get them back. You can pay an additional 20% for today’s service but it all adds up pretty quickly. I’m just looking for some thing that will scan and measure existing walls put it in the floor plan and import it to chief. I’m not sure of how complicated this would be but apparently nobody is offering it but I am aware of. -
Looking for information on what programs/apps Chief users use to field measure and import into chief architect. I currently use Leico bluetooth with either Room Scan and/or Magicplan although I am looking for an all in one measure, layout, and import to chief to save me a lot of steps and wasted time.
