Job Title: Drafting Technician Start date: (as soon as) October 19, 2020 Work Schedule: Mon-Thurs: 7:30AM–5:00PM & Fri: 7:30AM-11:30AM lunch break: 12:00PM-12:30PM Or a part time position is available as well – hours are flexible Location: (North) Crestview, Florida 32536 - no remote work available Summary: The drafting technician will work closely with other drafters and Engineers on designing and completing residential and commercial projects as well as assisting the office manager with miscellaneous tasks around the office (see tasks below). Essential duties and responsibilities: other duties may be assigned Ultimately answer to the operations manager as He assigns daily/weekly tasks and goals. Draft using chief architect and AutoCAD. Please see “qualifications” about information with chief architect. Attend weekly staff meetings and occasional consultations with clientele. Confer with engineer, engineer’s assistant, operations manager, and head drafter on the design, review, and finalization of residential plans. Cover the front desk for admin. assistant when necessary. This will include the following: handling walk- ins, answering phone calls, scheduling/confirming appointments, accepting/running payments, etc. Assist with running prints, change/load large-format paper and other printer supplies, bind plans, and deliver plans to the engineer’s office for further review. Meet weekly deadlines and goals for finalizing and review. Keep track of work day with an hourly/daily timesheet. Qualifications: Associate’s degree is preferred in the drafting program. Experience with drafting outside of the college program and answering emails/phone calls is not required, but greatly appreciated. Preferred continued: Experience with the program chief architect (CA). the majority of residential plans will be designed in CA. in-house training will be provided for tbd work days. It will be required to have working knowledge of CA after training period and skills/knowledge will be evaluated in a 90-day review. This job is ideal for someone who is: Dependable - more reliable than spontaneous, adaptable/flexible - enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction, and autonomous/Independent - enjoys working with little direction. Physical demands: regularly required to walk or stand, use hands or fingers to operate the keyboard and mouse, stoop, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds (packages/box of paper). Must be able to look at computer screen for majority of the work day. To keep our team as safe as possible, we have hand sanitizer located all throughout the office, along with several reminders for hygiene. We do not require masks for our staff, so we keep our doors locked to clients and perform all meetings virtually.   2. Our county requires to frame and to brick square footage calculations. How do I get the brick, I only see that it does to outside of frame. Thank you
