  1. I can say with full confidence it is not an issue with Hot Keys. I had the "Default" set to a specific hot key for when this did occur, and pressing it did not solve the issue. I have reset all my hot keys and checked, double and tripped checked preferences that states I am on "Default" but it still behaves like it is set to "move"
  2. What is the command called? isn't there a specific hot key for each of the possible behaviors? I don't think it is a hot key issue, but I am willing to try anything. Just not entirely sure what you are referencing here, Perry...
  3. This is an issue that came up a few months ago - very briefly - but has been occurring more and more as of late. Without any logical reason I can verify, I will be working away in Chief and all of a sudden it will switch me over to "Concentric" behavour patterns. If I toggle it off it then switches over to the "Move" behavour, even though my default is always selected. This can last anywhere from 20 seconds to an entire afternoon, and then all of a sudden, it will go back to how it should be.... I am running X3 so I hope this isn't a sabotage Chief Architect is running to force me into a software upgrade, Or perhaps this is a Computer issue. Either way, it has left me very confused, and very frustrated. Any and all guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Chaos
  4. How do I make this railing on the open steps slope with the stairs? I have created the winding treads as individual landings. Thoughts? X3 Thanks! Chaos
  5. See attached. I have created winding stairs (each angle step is a landing) and I would like to have the railing run on the angle with the treads rather than how it is shown. As far as I know there is no setting within the dialogue box for the landings that can make this happen. Any tips? Perhaps there's a better way to create these steps than the landing method? X3 Chaos Thanks!
  6. Awhile I posted an issue I was having with my Behaviour indicators. Essentially what happens is I will be working in Chief (in model space, paper space, or CAD Details space it matters not...) and suddenly my behaviours will begin to take on a life of their own. I ENSURE that I am constantly on "Default" but it seems to alternate between concentric or "move" style of actions. Building a CAD box and breaking a point to get it to have a 5th line... and the grip does not respond as such. I have no idea if this is a Chief issue, or a computer issue, but there is no rhyme or reason to when it happens, just like there is no indication on when it will go back to how it should respond (which it always does) although I am seeing this issue begin to occur more and more. It makes it damn near impossible to work efficiently and get professional looking drawings completed when you have no idea how your software is going to act on any given day. I put myself at the mercy of the council so to speak. Perhaps it is an issue with using X3? Nearing tears... - Chaos
  7. Is there a toggle setting that I am unaware of that allows for the following situation. I have a brick gable wall (Main wall is brick, and attic/gable is siding. I want to put in a window but have siding directly above the window only and running up to the gable siding is this a setting?? or is this a manual process of breaking the wall, etc... X3 Thanks! Chaos
  8. I am not an IT guy. So if this is an issue with the hardware of the actual Computer then I am absolutely lost. It is behaving as though Concentric Behaviors is on, but everything is set to Default. If I make a CAD box even and break it along one side and drag from the new point, it still re-sizes the box perfectly symmetrically, essentially ignoring the new point together. I realize the struggles I am having are very odd and the fact that my office forces me to run on X3 doesn't make it any easier for those of you to help me out since we are 3 versions behind the current. Like I said, this is something beyond my trouble shooting ability and I have no idea what to make of it :S
  9. Second Update: It has begun again SMH....... Nooooooooo idea what is going on.
  10. Update: It has corrected itself. I literally left the drawing open...walked away for 5 minutes and came back to find it working again. I suspect there is a tiny troll pulling wires within my CPU just messing with me... Thanks for everyone's aide though!
  11. I tried the "C" trick....to no avail Also, I have default on. not Concentric. HumbleChief, that Icon you've circled is not something I see anywhere on my screen to toggle on/off. I am using X3 if that helps (Cause I am a Dinosaur apparently)
  12. This happened to me once before but i simply closed down the program and it worked again when I opened it up. This time... no such luck. Something has happened that when I attempt to edit an object - specifically a CAD object - it re-sizes it wrong. Before I could do a box, click a side and move it and only that side of the box would move to re-size. Now, it is re-sizing about the center of the object. I realize in "Behaviours" under Preferences there is a "Resize/Rotate About" Option. Even clicking on "Current point" does not fix this. I have done nothing - knowingly anyways - to have this happen. Even worse is when i do a leader line and attempt to move just the arrow head point to change what it points to. it messes up the entire arrow. Here are some crude shots to help better explain You will see in the picture with the box, i am trying to re-size only the right side and the left side mirrors my action. in the picture with the arrow. i have help CTRL down and clicked the arrow head so that length of the arrow should be able to move freely, but you can see what it attempts to do. the length of the leader line that the arrow head is on will not move from its current angle.
  13. I want to import the colour swatches from Gentek for siding colours. How do I go about saving a google image of the colour and setting it to be the desired colour of a pre-set siding material in chief? Thanks, all! Importing an image of a material is no issue, but it's when i need to change the colour of an existing material with a colour that is not in the default library that i run into trouble X3 Cheers!
