  1. I've tried searching for this, but I'm not having any luck. I wanted to add some quoin details to the front elevation of our house. How could I accomplish that?
  2. Hey all. I'm trying to figure out how to duplicate what material settings I have set on a specific wall, to a new wall I have drawn. The exterior materials to be exact. I have the house complete and I'm drawing a separate garage that I would like to mirror the exterior look. I know there is a way to do this, but I can't seem to find it.
  3. Thanks all for the replies. I'm going to dig into this hopefully this week.
  4. I'm ready to start getting the construction documents (standard blueprint layouts) setup for my plan. Whats the most efficient way to go about this? I'd like to get the position the same from page to page. Do I create a template? Any help would be great. I haven't messed with generating these as of yet.
  5. I'm not sure if this is something I should be posting here or not. I've been trying to learn Chief Architect for a good while now in my spare time. I've come a long way, but I just am having trouble dedicating the time to it. I'm in the process of drawing up our house plans. I'm really close to getting them finished, but the exterior, dimensioning, and saving out to layouts are kicking my butt. I just don't have the time to figure them out. I have the floorplan pretty much finished the way we want it. Is it possible to find someone maybe on this forum who would be interested to take it and build out the exterior more specific to what we are looking for? Make a little extra cash on the side? If this is frowned upon, sorry for the post. I'm just trying to find out what my options are.

  7. Let me check this when I get back home. I have ceiling over this room checked and it's actually showing the ceiling in the thumbnail. I manually put a roof plan over it, so I'm wondering if that's why it didn't auto generate the sides. I couldn't figure out how to auto generate the whole roof and get the pitch changed.
  8. Well, I've gotten a little farther along. Still not exactly the way I want it. Question... how do I fill in the sides between the roof and the ceiling?
  9. Both of you pretty much got what I was trying to do. I couldn't figure out why I was having those weird side walls for the roof. Did you all just build a roof plane and it fixed it? Did you have to size up those two side walls showing on my original screenshot? I'm assuming I can go in and change the posts to a different style right?
  10. Hey all. I've struggling really bad trying to add a front porch to my plan. The roof is supposed to start right below the windows, but some weird stuff is going on that I just can't figure out. Any help out there? I've attached a screenshot and the actual plan. cedarpoint.plan
  11. Plan attached. The kitchen ceiling is what I'm trying to work with. I managed to get the floor plane working. I just need the ceiling now. Thanks. cedarpoint.plan
  12. Plan attached. I somehow fixed the extended siding, but you'll notice that there is a void now. If you are looking at the back of the house, its the left side. cedarpoint.plan
  13. I have an open floorplan and my kitchen leads into a breakfast area. I want to define a specific material only over the kitchen. Currently, the ceiling plane is across the whole open area. I have tried creating a polyline and converting it, but I can only seem to get it to work for flooring. How would I apply that to a ceiling plane? I tried copying the floor plane and raising the height to match the ceiling but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  14. Like I said before, the file uploader won't let me post the plan. I keep getting an error. I can post other files just fine. It's below the 10mb limit too.
  15. For some reason it's not letting me attach the plan. I did manage to fix the extended siding issue, but that developed a new issue. See the back right corner. Now there is a gap in the siding. Something weird is going on here. Still not exactly sure what the problem was/is here. Glad I can get everyone's brains working.
  16. Tried that. It works... sort of. When I specify the room as a bedroom it reverts back to the extended siding. This is driving me nuts.
  17. It looks like the wall height is fine, but it's extending the siding up two levels. ?
  18. Looks like it's already checked. Any other thoughts?
  19. Well I'll be. That was it Kenoeightspot. The bottom floor wall is showing double height. I'm not seeing where to adjust this?
  20. So I have a weird issue. When I place a window on a certain wall, it shows the wall going through the window. I've tried deleting and readding, but it still does it. It only seems to be this wall too. Any thoughts?
  21. Perfect! This is exactly what I needed. Thanks.
  22. I have a room above my garage. Currently the walls are the same default size as the rest of the floor. I want to shorten the left and right wall to bring the roof life down. This should cause the corners of the room to cut into the roof line. How can I go about doing this? The only way I can seem to move the wall height is change the ceiling. I don't want to do that because the ceiling is the same throughout the floor. I just need the walls to drop down roughly 18in or so. this room is vaulted. Any help?
  23. Ok, I almost have this figured out. I have everything connected. The only issue I'm running into is that now the main set of stairs is getting out of wack. The treads are off and it's floating in mid air. See snippets. It;s messing up the run and lengths.
  24. Ahh, nice. It looks like I almost have it. There seems to be a weird glitch now. 1.) I'll need to remove the railing where the open landing going down is. 2.) see the plan line snippet, it's doing a weird fold over line on the drawing. Which, seems to be causing an odd railing render in the 3d view .
