I am trying to figure out how to build up (or stack up) molding.  Meaning, I want two or three moldings combined as one.  Mainly need for lintels, for windows and doors, since the dbx won't let you build them like you can in a room molding dbx.

Will be suggesting this when I am done here.

Rpadge's method works. Another workaround is to place a temporary object that supports "Make Stack" in the dialog, such as a cabinet or a molding polyline. Add the moldings you would like, select them both (Ctrl + Click), and click "Make Stack". You can add that to the library and then use it for your windows and doors.

For others who might like to make a Report to Tech. Support too, you need to copy the "Bad" Catalogue to your User Library 1st , then you can Export it , to send to Tech Support.

    M.

Please do not do that. Copies or exports of items in our catalogs will not give us any relevant information.

To send the catalog to tech support, you can find the file in your System Library Database Folder (on windows, this is usually C:/ProgramData/Chief Architect Premier X15/, but you can check yours by opening your Preferences and looking at General -> Folders -> "System Library Database Folder:").

The catalogs will be in either Bonus Libraries/ or Manufacturer Libraries/ and will have a (.calib) extension.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Just downloaded X15.  Drew my plan and I can't find the search field for the Library.  What happened to that?  Is that still available and I just can't find it???

Yes, the search field is still there. What are you seeing?

  4. Hello Angela,

The textures for Bonus, Core & Manufacturer Libraries are stored in the Referenced Files folder. Please try copying all of the files from

    C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X12\Referenced Files\

    to

    C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X14\Referenced Files\

I am still on X13 and was wanting to clean this up. I don't plan on going to X14 anytime soon, at least not until the end of the year. I apparently did not export correctly when I went from X12. All my stuff is there but it would be nice to clean it up.

    Hello Rob,

Exports from the library (i.e. Right-Clicking a folder and selecting "Export Library...") will always be imported under your User Catalog.

It is not necessary to export your libraries when upgrading versions.

If you still have X12, you could quickly fix this by copying the content in C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X12\Referenced Files and C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X12\Bonus Libraries to the corresponding X13 folders. It would be a good idea to close Chief, and make a backup of your X13 folders before you do this.

To avoid this problem for X14, you can migrate Core, Bonus and Manufacturer libraries between versions.

Ensure this is checked when you launch X14 for the first time:
