You'll need to re-draw your terrain perimeter on the first floor.
Good luck!

I'd just like to add that we are on X8 right now (and X9 soon). We do a lot of file sharing so It would be helpful if you were using the same version as us..
Thanks,
Mike G.

Funny, I just did a basketball court a few months ago using material regions and 1/16" 3d molding polylines.
I made a block out of it. See attached.
There's also a scoreboard and bleachers in there. I think the scoreboard is from 3d warehouse and the bleachers are from chief.
<edit> I used the attached .gif to get the dimensions.

Super cool. Thanks!

If you search the word 'cornice' on 3D warehouse there are a couple of similar items that you possibly could use as a starting point.
Here's one: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=ef127b70-f865-45cb-8d05-876078f36378
It might save a little time.

If you use one polyline to go around that corner instead of two, that won't happen. In fact, I would do all of the crown in that room as one polyline.
You can use the break line tool, then turn one section 90 degrees and line it up with the wall for a quick fix.

Very cool. Thanks Toomqr1!

The doors are on the 'ROOF PLANES OVER HEAD' layer. Turn that on and switch them back to the 'Doors' layer and you should be all set!

That definitely sounds like an issue for tech support.

Doug beat me to it.
The only difference is that I used a higher pitch on the cricket.

Here's some entryways and transoms too if anyone is interested.
They're all in X8.

This has to do with the difference between using the default glass material and the actual material.
I am assuming that Auto Adjust Default Glass Properties is toggled on and left on.
Lets ignore the left door, because it has Glass Grey as it's glass material.
If you open up each door's dbx and check the glass material, you will notice that there is a difference in the glass material used between the doors that have clear glass and those that have the tinted glass.
The doors with clear glass have the glass material set as "Default Glass: Glass Standard".
The doors with the tinted glass have the glass material set as just "Glass Standard" - note, no "Default Glass".
Select the door and open it's dbx.
Materials panel...#Glass...select it and then Select Material...Material Defaults...select Glass (which is set to Glass Standard).
OK, OK.
You should now have clear glass.
Or, as Alan says, you can select Glass Standard from the library.
However, if you do this, the Auto Adjust Default Glass Properties will have no effect on how the glass displays - the glass will always be clear and Chief won't auto adjust it.
Ahh. I see. Thank you!
Off topic question, Are these doors found in chief's library? I've been looking for the half door with divided lights and haven't found anything on 3D warehouse that I liked, or in chief. These are awesome.
Here's a few more (see attached). These are Thermatru doors that we use a lot around here.
I made most of these years ago using polyline solids and 3D molding polylines. I've since cleaned them up a bit using sketchup.

Terrific!
Thanks a lot!

I have four custom doors in this plan that I made at different times. All of them have glass, but in two of them, it appears tinted. I'd like them all to be completely clear.
I used the same material (Glass Standard) and all of the settings appear to be the same.
Am I missing something? I don't think I did anything differently when I imported them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Turn off the auto railings on the stairs by going to the Newels/Balusters tab and uncheck the railing on the exposed side.
As Mick said, draw a railing where it would go on the stairs and check Follow stairs on the Rail Style tab. Then adjust your newel spacing in the Newels/Balusters tab.
To get the lower rail, go to the Rail Style tab and check the Raise Bottom Rail/Panel and put in the distance you want from the tread to the bottom rail.
Here's what it should look like in plan view.
-
For a staircase you would have to drop the newel into the plan as an individual object.
Then place it in the center of the stairs at the rail and adjust the height off the ground in an elevation view.

There must be something going on with that file.
I copied and pasted them into a new plan file and it was much smaller.

Yea, but it too is not totally correct because it will show the wall finish (double line at each side of wall).
That's true for a half wall, but if you copy the wall type and use black (or whatever) line colors and fill for all of the layers the lines go away.
For a true railing, the hatching will work.
I did these by adding hatching and then editing the hatch to be solid.
The one on the left has "Draw Newels/Balusters" checked, the other doesn't.

This came up for me last week and I could have sworn there were vac symbols in Chief. It turns out I was kind of right. They had vac symbols on older versions, but must have removed them for some reason. I found them on X1.
I know you found what you were looking for, but here are the X1 outlets. There are 4. Two wall and two floor outlets shown both open and closed.

Open the foundation wall dbx and on the Wall Types section, make it a pony wall with siding on top and the concrete wall on the bottom. Then you can adjust the height of the concrete wall accordingly.
Hope that helps.
