Wow, That is cool. Last question. Text is yellow. How do I change it to black?
-
When I download dwg my computer says I need to download a app to open. What app should I use?
-
OK. Thankyou. What format do I use?
-
The details I found on Simpson site are dwg, dxf and pdf but they are on 24 x 36 sheets with many drawings that don't pertain to this plan. I would like to take the detail I need and fill in dimensions for my plan. This is a PDF example. I couldn't open dwg or dxf apparently need to download a app I don't have yet. Can you tell me if it's possible/how to import a detail drawing (a Simpson shear wall detail)? Is it possible to edit the A,B,C dimensions and change to the numbers I need to fit my specific plan? Thank you

Steel plate dimensions.zip

Ok. I found centers. But, what do I have set to make dimensions perpendicular to poly line?
-
Yes. Won't work for me. I can't get dimension to find center and it jumps around instead of going to polyline edge. I'm sure I have set something wrong.

I'm trying to draw a detail of a exposed truss steel plate connection. What settings do I use to draw centers of drilled holes circles to polyline or steel plate edges? I'm tying to send plan and can't figure that out either? Thanks Steel Plate Detail.pdf

I upgraded to x11 and still having problems Bachler Home.plan

Wrong plan. I'll send the right one. Note. I went to a new plan, built a rectangle and framing worked correctly

I'm a newbie on CAx 8 but I'm try to auto frame a floor system over a crawlspace. I put my beams in with no problems but when I try to build framing for 1st floor subfloor under the foundation tab nothing happens? I feel like it is something simple but getting frustrated. Thankyou When I chose build framing it ask to turn on joist, ect. I checked to make sure. It's like it framed it but I can't see it. I've tried 3D framing, floor, and overview. The first floor walls and roof worked fine Bachler.plan

Thank you for your time Mick. That is really nice work! I had to step aside a couple days from frustration. Fortunately I don't have to make a living drawing. I will try those tips and try not bother you again. Thanks again, Tony

WOW, you guys are tough. Can't get much right. Sure you've heard the saying "I have to try and build the stuff you guys draw". Thank you Mick! That is my goal, but if you use the second floor as a roof, is there a way to show the 1/4 pitch on it? That's why I used a roof.
