Thanks Joe. I did specify that it should use that GPU. Weird. I've opened up a ticket so hopefully, I can get an answer,

Hello
I've read all the suggestions and I believe my card is well within the minimum requirements. But I'm still getting the card not meeting the requirements and no 3d modelling.
i7 4790-k
32 GB ram
SSD drive
Nvidia Quadro K5000 4 GB latest driver 472.12 installed.
When I start CA X13 I get the your graphic card doesn't meet the requirements. I checked both the directx which is version 12 and the shader which is 6.5 So not sure why I would get this error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

This is my first shot at the mylumion.com, The potential in this is very promising.

Created in chief x7 and imported to chief 5.7 pro
Rendering time : 12min

I share a little something I have been working on. Model still "rough" but honing it in. Could not wait to see what it would look like rendered, so I ran these quick shots. Still lots of stuff to do....even tweeking colors/textures/bumps/lighting. (fixing landscaping coming in the front wall )
Guess I have to finish the design first!
I like the direction you are going (love the island) what software did you render the video on?
-
Putting all the discussion regarding the video, and the presentation technique aside, this is a great design. It was a joy to watch!
Thank you, I'm about to finish the next project and will be expanding a little more time on the presentation... Hopefully it will flow better and please a wider audience

I disagree completely. You have to know your intended audience. For a "promo" type or sales vid.....I agree completely. Much like a movie trailer....constantly moving shots, lots of transitions etc. Creating something of visual interest that is exciting.
Now....working with clients to give them a true "feel" for their deisgn....the video is MUCH longer and not nearly as 'exciting'. It cant be... They need time to get comfortable and flow through the spaces. Jumping from one scene to another keeps peoples attention who are not invested in your project. A homeowners attention is focused and the WANT the long boring video. They want to move slowly through...and are never yawning or becoming disinterested. In fact, they usually go back and play them over and over.....sometimes pausing at parts to look even longer.
Again....it is all about knowing your audience.
Agreed...

It did, but would be even better if Lumion had multiple GPU support

Good Morning Dennis, what I mean by executed and modeled in chief is that: I have created the construction sets on chief and all the details (except for the plants) on Chief as well (lots of polyline solids, lol). I have used the free version as well and was mesmerized by the quality and simplicity of Lumion, the 5.3 Pro is amazing IMHO.
Jintu, it took 7.5 hours @ 1080 5 stars.
And Jon I will get the book and would really appreciate your input if possible. IE (too long, boring angles???)

I normally do my frieze boards manually, floor plan view for the strait ones and elevation for the angled ones.

Hello All, I have noticed that X7 have addressed the texturing issue for Collada files, it works perfectly now, thank you...

Good Morning, I am getting crashes on start up chief x6, though I think it may be related to the cloud auto-upload feature that I'm using...
-
They were both created in chief architect, the difference is that: the example was exported from chief to a collada file and imported in to lumion.
The sunny morning one, was exported from chief to a collada file, imported to sketchup (the .dae file from chief), exported from sketchup as a collada file also, then imported in lumion.
Just to specify the process we have to go through...
-
I have attached two example files, the example one: exporting directly from X6 and the the front perspective, exporting to sketch up first then exporting the .dae file again from sketch up. It's nothing related with the rendering technique, and the textures are automatically imported, when importing a collada file in Lumion...

I first draw a straight road, then used the cul-de-sac tool and conected it to the first road, after that I attached the other 3 roads to the automatically generated Cul-de-sac
-
I wonder if it could be related to the lighting in chief architect itself as because of the collada files properties.
If you import a .3ds file from chief to lumion, it partially work, and .dae files from sketch up to lumion work perfectly. So it must be chief related.
I got a open ticked right now, if I find something, I will get back to you...
-
What was the process, step-by-step, that you used to draw the roads?
Also I have attached an updated version of the culdesac with all 4 roads...
Toggling between views
in General Q & A
Posted
I just got a new computer and downloaded x13. When I open multiple views, it shows blanks. For instance, if I'm in 2D and then cut an elevation and also open camera view, when I toggle back to the 2D elevation, it's blank? Trying to figure out if this is a setting or something else?
Any help is appreciated!
