Cad Block

Help!  I have a timber gable truss that I would like to modify.  I explode the cad block and it opens up in a new tab and allows me to modify the individual lines.  The problem that I am having is that I can only see the cad block from the top view which is making it very difficult to modify properly.  I need to be able to rotate the view to a front view.  I am unable to figure out how to do this.  Is there a way?
