Grayed out foundation when displayed on Layout

When I send my foundation (plan layer 0)to a layout sheet it is grayed out when I send it to my printer or a pdf file?  The lines displayed on the plan and on the layout are black but when I send it to my printer the foundation is greyed out.  The other items on the layout page is the same as what I see on the screen.  The other layout pages print exactly what is displayed on the layout sheets.  How do I make the foundation layer not grey when printed.
