Staggering Tile

I'm trying to stagger a 24" x 48" tile in a 3D view of a shower but having difficulty making it staggered horizontally. I only have a picture of one of the tiles so when I just make the material it's not staggered. When I go to change the pattern type and do grid offset or grid step it still doesn't change them. I'm not sure how else to get this to work and would love some help!
