User Made Material not Calculating Correctly

I created a material from a 3D solid and saved it as a material, other.  It's exterior below grade foundation drainage boards. I built this and placed them where I needed them using the four exterior elevation views. It ended up being 8 distinct polylines to get the areas covered. On the materials list there are only 4 areas (#elevations?) listed and the square footage is way, way off. There's no difference between the sections. They were all copy/paste from the first one made. However if I open each distinct section and look at the polyline section it gives me the correct sqft area covered by the material. Yes, I could just write that information somewhere but I'm really trying to get this user generated material to show up correctly on the materials list. That's the entire reason why I bothered to make the material and place it. I want accurate information to show up on the materials list for a more accurate budget.

I've dug around and haven't found anything obvious. Amy ideas out there?
