Creating gable roof over angled breezeway/garage floor plan

Greetings-

I am using CA  v10.

I have an angled breezeway/garage floor plan and am trying to generate a roof over both. The breeze way will have a dormer and staircase to access living space over the garage. The trouble is, CA is attempting to tie the gable roof of the breezeway in at 90 degrees to the garage. This results in a deformed roof over the breezeway - it articulates the ridge at odd angles. Can someone help me set this up to straighten out the ridge? The valleys will be unequal of course but that's the situation I have.
