Adding blocks to library but they turn grey

I'm trying to update my custom toolbars now since switching from x12 to x13. I had custom blocks (ie. a 3:12 pitch symbol) that was fine in 12, but when I went to update the button icon for 13 it's so light it's almost not there. I think it's there. I have everything in the block on a layer using black, the block is on a layer using black, but when added to the library everything turns grey, then creating the button the icon is practically invisible. I've searched for this but can't find anything here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
