Creating Basement

I am new to chief architect and be watching the training videos to start learning how to operate chief architect.  I was watching a video on creating a basement and notice a difference between my basement and the videos basement when putting them in perspective floor overview.  In the tutorial basement view you can tell the difference between the footer and the wall where as in mine it all just runs together and doesn't seem to have any detail.  

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
