24" W x 600" long x 18" tall Room with walls, & Floor. Auto framed. Used the temporary remove surface tool to show the framing by deleting the 2nd floor sub-floor sheathing layer.
Key is to hang the floor system from the walls w/ upside down framing and sheathing on 1st floor and a 0 height 2nd floor.
For the different facades you can just add that to your wall definition floor structure for first floor and floor finish for 2nd floor.
That's what I tried to do using the structural. So it IS possible. Will give it a shot. Thank you!

Have you considered manually building the framing? For a simple shape like you describe, should go quick.
I want to be able to have the framing in the material list.

I would if I knew could. Never used that feature. Is that under general building or something like that? Sorry not on my home computer.

The simplist shape is 50 continuous feet of 18"x24" built-up of 2x wood or steel framing. Clad with wood, EIFS, or copper...they don't know what they want. These will be fabbed offsite. But I'd like to where to out blocking and attachment points. Also, show the framework on a rendering of the existing conditions. Thanks, Mark

I'm making irregular box-like details for which I would like the required materials like framing and exterior shell to be included in the material list. I tried using a combination framed wall, ceiling ,floor, roof and its sucky. Is there a way to use polyline solids to create the shapes then have the program "pre-frame" the shapes so that I can modify the framing as usual? Thanks...Mark
ps. Using Premier X13

Is there a setting to automatically have material (drywall) on the ends of a full height wing wall?
Thanks, Mark

Thank you! The reason I ask is that sometimes I work with 2 or more open files at a time. Or collaborate with others, but I'm realizing that this can't be done anyway in CA (like AC, Revit). But I do like to have the file printed on my checkprints so thanks!

Is there an ON/OFF setting to display in the title bar the entire path of the file that I'm working on? Also if there is, is there a setting or a macro to automatically print the entire path on each page of a set of drawings? I'm using x10. Thanks.

Framing not in Material List
in General Q & A
Posted
Why does the framing not show in the material list when the room is selected? Attached is the list when the room with ceiling joists is selected.I have the framing boxes checked off. Selected framed walls will not show any framing in the list either. But if I select framing members individually they will be there. For me it's one of those "sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt". Most likely I touched something in the settings that I wasn't supposed to. Thanks
