  1. I'm having a very hard time finding or creating a lot of the victorian style trim pieces for the exterior of buildings. Corbels Frieze boards, etc. Can or does anyone have any advice or any input whatsoever?
  2. After I went home last night, I thought more about this roof and, you were right Mike. I can't believe i didn't think of that before. It was a somewhat simple fix. Now the only trouble I'm having is, where in the world am I going to find all of these detailed cornice materials? LOL Thanks for your help. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't a little embarrassed for even thinking I needed to ask the original question. I think i was just making it harder than it needed to be.
  3. Mike, The roof does contain Box gutters which is where the shallow pitch comes into play. This is an existing Victorian home that we a currently restoring. I am using X7. All of the construction documents have been drawn in Powercad. We use chief for visual purposes only. The client wants to see some different color options on the elevation. I was just drawing this with mostly defaults. just to get a quick visual but that seems to have backfired, epically. Greg
  4. P.S. I'm pretty sure this plan is a mess ATM. I've been trying everything I can think of to get this roof to work out right.
  5. Can anyone help me figure out how to make a cross gable roof with overhangs over odd shaped bump outs? I have tried floating dormers and regular dormers with no success. I have tried manually building a dormer using walls and manual roof planes but can't seem to figure out how to cut through the roof. Any help would be appreciated as this house is killing me. 1017 Main St.plan
  6. Oh, my. I feel stupid for asking how to upload them. that worked perfectly. thanks to both of you!!!
  7. i was not even aware of 3d warehouse. Thank you!
  8. Can anyone tell me if there are file cabinets in the chief library? If so, where can one find said cabinets? I use file cabinets quite frequently in design and being so new to chief, i have been struggling to find the items i need to complete my drawings. If there is not a file cabinet in the library, has anyone successfully created their own that could maybe guide me through the process?
  9. OK, as you all pointed out my exterior wall was extended into the interior and i was able to remedy that quite easily after it was pointed out. (though feeling a bit embarrassed about such a rookie mistake.) Thank you. I'm sure I will be post more questions as i proceed with the project. This is not exactly the simplest plan for me to have to start with as im certain that the finished attic and roof are going to give me fits.
  10. I recently started working with Chief X7 for MAC OS. I am working on my first project which is a restoration project of an old victorian house. I am having some difficulty in some areas of the project. I will simply try to ask 1 question at a time and hope I don't become to much of a PIA. Pertaining to exterior walls. I cannot figure out how to get the wall ends of the exterior walls to display with gyp board as oppose to the exterior finish protruding through where the exterior wall and interior walls meet, as shown in the screen shot attached. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.
