OK... I spent a lot of hours trying to use the built in system for exterior moulding. it was amazing the contortions and trial and error I had to go through to get a wall to show up properly... inverting the moulding, crazy and seemingly random offsets 15-9/16 vertical and 2.5 horizontal.. and it would only randomly show up on one one wall or another... obviously takes a lot of mental dexterity that I don't possess. Doing them Manually seems to require making 4 different moldings... a different one for west facing walls than South, East and North. And given that There is a slight pattern to then and to the edges where they terminate, the corners dont work well. Would happily pay someone to teach me these things online. my example of terminations.. this is a small detail but I think I have to have a custom solid for each section... probably not worth it. And I have no idea how to create that ceiling. Yes, I know that poor plant needs some love...

- mostly done, just having problems finishing details with exterior molding, vaulted ceilings, porch ceilings, soffits, etc. mostly I want to get my as built plans complete, and my remodel plans overlaid... but I would love to learn a bit along the way... I attached as built my plans. here is the remodel plan At some point I will need the plans stamped and printed off in Maui... but Id rather have them all ready before I turn it over to a local guy... Wow! It worked! I can finally select things without endlessly selecting nonsense artifacts! Interestingly, I've actually never really imported anything. The exception is when i first installed CA It brought over my Home Designer files (detuned product from same company) That must have been the culprit. THANK YOU!!!! I will do this!

OK... in Repose to ericepv and MPDesign... First, thank you. At the risk of being dense... I have a couple questions... 1) After hitting OK... no element no is selected in the plan. I confirmed that Moldings are visible. When I seem in there is no element (molding) added. Thoughts? 2) Out of curiosity, why cant I select anything from the "Convert Molding" drop down. The only option is Blank Molding... maybe because there is no moulding currently on the exterior wall? I would love to make this system work. SNester's solution mostly works, (and the video is fantastic) but it takes more steps and the corners where the moldings meet are not clean. If there is a build in system to imply add exterior molding, I would love to figure it out. THANK YOU!

Than you... yes, that is what I'm trying to do. See original question... when I get to step 2... i never get the moulding dialog box... 1) I can highlight the outer perimeter 2) I can select make room moulding poly line. 3) I can add hight... when i press "OK" nothing happens. I get no moulding dialog box.

See below. I am trying to add exterior moulding to a house similar to the brown band at the bottom. I added this using the pony wall tool, but that simply allows me to create a rectangle.. not a shaped moulding. So I follow the instructions in picture 2.. but when I click OK in step 2, I do not get the Moulding dialog box they show as step 3. What might I be doing wrong? How do I get to the box where I select the moulding. I have already created it. It is in my library. Thank you! x14 in Mac OS M2Pro

Whenever I delete a door or wall, etc... it leaves behind dotted lines outlining where it was. Is this a user error or a feature or a bug? X14 on an M2 mac THANK YOU!

Hi! I am trying to draw as-builts for my home. Below is wall section I made using a simple draw program. I am looking for assist on the following assist: (I use CA-x14) 1) How do I build the roof overhang to have these partially boxed eves? 2) On the bottom of my stucco walls there is 2" foam with a 45 degree cut corner. a) I tried to make a pony wall section with the correct layers. This worked, but it lacks the 45 degree cut. b) I made a poly-line moulding, but I cannot figure out where to add exterior trim to walls. Any ideas on the best way to do this?
