That happens if the light isn’t set up as a true light object before turning it into a symbol. I ran into it once while updating some fixtures and ended up just making sure the light properties carried over before saving. Some of the designs on Seus lighting gave me ideas for keeping the glow realistic. After tweaking that, all my imported lights worked and even matched the mood I wanted for different rooms.
