  1. Hi everyone, I’m working on a few masonry-based residential and light commercial projects in the Las Vegas, NV area and had a quick question related to CMU (concrete block) wall design and moisture control. Our climate is generally very dry, but we do get occasional humidity spikes—especially during monsoon season—which can impact curing, surface prep, and long-term moisture protection for block walls. From a design/drafting perspective, I’m curious: Do you include any specific notes or assemblies for moisture barriers or breathable coatings in CMU wall specs? How do you typically address moisture control in wall sections for desert climates? Any favorite resources or detail libraries you use when working with block wall structures? I’m gathering info to include in a practical field guide for builders in this region—will post a link here once it’s finalized, in case it’s helpful to others. Thanks in advance!
