I want to avoid exploding them and selecting each wall and roof plane, if that's an option. I understand that's probably how I will have to go about it.

Hey everyone I appreciate any help! Just trying to create more accurate materials lists for our company, we do custom homes and remodels. I am trying to create a materials list including framing, sheathing, and roof materials for two dormers I have on a house. I tried selecting all of the roof planes at once and figured it wouldn't generate a list because I had the dormers selected. I deselected them and was able to create the correct materials list for just the normal roof planes. I went back and selected the dormers and realized there is no option for creating any sort of list with dormers at all. I am new to working with dormers (I usually manually design them) Does any one know why that is? Thank you!
