  1. I will make a material list exclusive to the Decks/Walks category. That is a good idea that I had not considered yet. The whole point of me going down this "Rabbit Hole" is that the railing is only available in 6' or 8' lengths, and that is how the vendor wants us to send the material list to them. I was trying to simplify it so we didn't have to break it down for them, the material list would already have done the math for us. Then we would just send the material list to them and we would not have to manually adjust the LF reporting into section lengths for them. Same goes for the additional caps and base trim that I have put in there, trying to make it simple for them. You would think that they would automatically send on each for each post. LOL Thanks for your help.
  2. I have been trying numerous combinations using the railing components as well as Rail style to give me an accurate panel length between post, number of sections at that length and an accurate number of newels required. Our vendor is requesting that I break it down for them. ??? I don't know why. LOL I have tried numerous combinations like =(top_rail_length)/(num_whole_newels) etc. but I always end up with something being off in the material list. It may be that it is not possible or that I have not figured it out yet. If it requires writing a macro, well, I am not very good at that. Any ideas would be of help. Thanks in advance. This section works with the current Rail Style settings This section will not work because of Rail Style settings. It has the end post that ties to the front section of the deck. If I set Rail Styles to be all full post, all of the railing sections calculate correctly, but now the reporting of the newel post is off because it counts the corners with start and stop post.
