Thanks is this something that would ever be an issue if I purchased your template @Renerabbitt When I open plan default settings how do I know if I want the living area to go to "Main Layer" or "Surface" RIght now it says main layer. I sort of feel like I am reading a foreign language so if you think that purchasing your template would eliminate these issues pls let me know. I see default settings but dont see exactly what you are referring to.

Yes that sounds just right. Do you know where I find the setting for plans vs elevations for this?

I am searching for what the setting issue is because my floor plan shows a wall at 141" and the elevation shows the same wall at 140 1/2" . The 140 1/2" is correct and the floor plan dimension looks like it is pulling from further in the wall but I can't figure out how to change this. Any suggestions?

I know this is an older post but it was helpful for me, bc I also didnt realize that vector view is how you show door hinging. I too want a black and white drawing. Can you share how you turn off the color? Even if it is printed in black and white it will still show shading. I guess maybe plot lines? Although I still haven't figured out how to get plot lines bc when I send a drawing to layout, I see the box to check plot lines but it isn't available to check. Thank you!!!

I am not sure why this is automatically making my window uneven. On the left it shows 2" trim and the right 2 1/4" trim. I would really just like to see the overall window dimension INCLUDING the trim. Is there a way to change that in default settings? I measure the window with the trim and I really need to know the usable space between the window and the wall. Also if so, then on the next project does it remember my default settings? Like if I open a new plan? Thank you. I am a kitchen designer so mostly working on interior spaces.

I take that back. It worked!!!!! I had to add doors/drawers/panels to the "locate auto elevation" tab in defaults. Now it shows the panels in the dimensions on my elevations!!!! Thank you.

@Kbird1 I tried changing this setting but it still doesn't show the integrated side panels. I am using Chief 16, newest version. Such a bummer bc it is much easier than adding panels separately.

When I add a side panel to the end of a kitchen cabinet, it shows in elevation view, but when I auto dimension the elevation, it only dimensions the width of the cabinet and does not show dimensions for the side panels. Is there a setting to fix this?

I want to be able to show a kitchen cabinet wall in elevation (or perspective) and toggle on the option to show interior shelving, and not show interior shelving. For presentation drawings I don't want it, but for sign off I would like to show the cabinet shelves and pull-outs with the doors closed.
