I am wondering what is the easiest and most efficient way to add this bonus area over the garage. Im not sure if I should create another floor and draw the bonus area in manually or what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Ill attached what im going for and the plan file. I have read the knowledge base articles but am still unsure. No im not trying to match that exactly. My walls arent going to be tall enough to make it look exactly like that. I need the gable over the porch to look somewhat similar.

Awesome thanks its looking alot better. I am curious though as to why I have the gap you can see. Any thoughts?

Im pretty new to the program and have been working on manual roofs. Im currently trying to make a break in the front roof line to put a gable over the front door. Im not sure what im doing wrong ive gotten close to what I want but cant quite get it to look how I want. Any help would be appreciated. Barndo Roof.plan

I was going off of a floor plan I made but wanting to recreate the roof style and dormers like the plan from the internet.

I have tried editing in the dormer dialog, but continue to get the error message as before. Is there another way to make it wider and taller or am I missing something? The max height it will let me go is 13''.

thank you! Okay so i got it to put a smaller dormer on that roof over the porch. Is there anyway to make it taller to look like the picture above? if i make it any taller than 12'' i get the same error message as before.

im using the auto floating dormer tool.
