Hi, I am trying to build a house on piers without the use of stem walls. Anyone has experience (this would be similar to homes built on stilts along the beach, only my soil isn't sandy- it is Frederick Loamy silt and clayey in deeper sections and the bedrock is weathered dolomite-limestone)? Could I do it without an engineer to approve the plan. If not, how much should I expect to pay for an engineer to look over the plan and approve it if I provided the drawing blueprints and load calculations etc.? Thanks
