Yes. Setting the porch side walls to invisible took care of the upper wall issue as well.

I just manually created the roof planes. I prefer automatic when possible, but I suppose done is better than perfect. And I set the side walls of the porch to invisible, which eliminated the back posts as well as the strange wall sections above. Thought I'd update this thread for anyone else who may benefit in the future, even though it's just me in here. Thanks.

Zipped first file incorrectly. But now I see that the zipped folder is too large to attach..

Hello All, I am wanting to place a covered patio on a 2 story home. When I create the patio room I am unable to get the roof to generate, and the second story exterior walls are strangely extending out to meet the porch columns. I would like to create a very low pitch, gabled roof that remains under the second story windows. What am I doing wrong? File attached. Screenshots below. Any thoughts are appreciated. LHI 35.zip

Well, there is something new to me. I didn't know there was such a thing as plan view, assuming the layer sets filled that role. Looking around, I don't see where to select plan views. Would you mind telling me how to switch those? Thank you!

I've been searching and for some reason I can't find that anyone else has asked this question. Probably means that it's obvious and I'm just extra challenged. Anyway, I want to get dimensions that are just in the plot plan dimension layer. When I'm in the plot plan layer set, I don't want all the house dimensions. But when I add dimensions in that set, I get a dialog box asking if I want to display the plan dimensions. What am I missing? Screenshots below. Thanks!!

Wall section above porch beam and stubborn roof pitch

Wall section above porch beam and stubborn roof pitch
Kanomis replied to Kanomis's topic in General Q & A
I just tricked it into working. I had to push the wall of that gabled section out 1/4" and that seemed to disconnect it from the porch walls, releasing it from matching the porch pitch. Now I have the wall that's a random 1/4" deeper. Is there something I mistakenly did wrong? And yes, I realized that my heel height was making the strange section above the porch beams. Is it possible to manipulate only the porch heel setting, instead of lowering the whole house? Thanks! -
Wall section above porch beam and stubborn roof pitch

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out! New zip attached. New Compressed (zipped) Folder.zip -
Good afternoon, Concern # 1: I can't seem to figure out why I have a short section of wall above my porch beams. This has not happened in the past when I have created porches with beams. All of my ceiling heights match. When I try changing the porch ceiling height, it blows everything up. Thoughts? Concern #2: After changing some wall dimensions, the gable below has suddenly dropped from the desired 12/12 to something like a 4/12. The setting still show it as 12/12 but its stuck at the lower pitch. Can't seem to figure out why it's refusing to go back to 12/12. Plan file attached. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, as always! Thank you! New Compressed (zipped) Folder.zip

Good evening! I know that it's possible to modify the title block template for future plans, but can't it be done for existing layout files? The city is requiring the project address to be on every page and I would love to use the macros I already have in use to auto populate this info on every page. I just can't seem to figure out how to modify this on an existing layout file. I really don't want to go through the hassle of putting a new layout file together. Is this possible? Screenshot attached. Premier X15. Thanks!!

Thank you so much for taking a look at this! Totally solved my problem! Was just that little nook in the garage. Yeah, I tried making a second roof group hoping that would do it, but to no avail. And thank you for the tips on using defaults. Very insightful!

Hello all, I swear in the past I have been able to change the room height of one room without changing the height of others. Either way, I need to raise the garage height and roof together without affecting the rest of the main floor. But whenever I change the garage height, the rest of the house changes with it. Is there an option somewhere to turn this off? I have assigned basic interior rooms, including the garage. I have tried manually adjusting the height of the garage walls, but this just pushes the walls through the roof. Walls sticking through roof. All the walls raising when I change the garage room height...

Figured it out. Just needed to change the elevations of each slab. Realized that the back patio slab was too high and would be poured into the framing rather than the foundation. And the front porch was auto-set to 0" at the top. Dropped both of them and viola. Thanks for letting me talk through this!

Hey all, I'm a small builder who draws his own house plans, so a Jack of all trades, master of none. Working in Premier X15. I'm having trouble with my back patio showing strangely on my elevation and with my front porch foundation walls setting themselves slightly taller than the rest of the house. This is a full basement with cold storage under the porch. The back patio will just be poured on grade. Here is the patio. It just showing as a hole. Shows okay in ortho: And here is the front porch. How can I get the foundation walls to be the same height as the rest of the house? I simply created it with the rest of the house's foundation walls. Any thoughts and responses would be greatly appreciated. I tried attaching the job file but it is too large to attach here. Thank you!
