  1. Must have been the frieze, then. I have them removed from all other roof planes. I kept them when I redrew this one but reduced the size to .125". Thank you for your help!
  2. Here is a link to the plan. Roof pitch is 1/2:12 with a flat clg. I've checked and unchecked the General settings and I do have a fascia. What am I missing? :/ skylite issue
  3. Well, apparently putting the cricket in where it should be instead of leaving it out was the issue. I'm guilty of not following through on all of the plan before trying to fix everything.
  4. Thank you for your suggestions. I work with many different houses with different clg heights and roof styles, spending time on all the default settings isn't my first step when each house level has different heights. Most houses have more than one roof pitch, also. I've seen chief files where people have 3D solids for beams and the material is porcelain . I just put my 3D solid on the Corner Board layer to get it off the CAD Default layer. If I was concerned about a materials list, I would make it more accurate. I'm 100% self-taught on this program and can usually figure out my mistakes and know where fudging can be done, but this overhang issue has me baffled. Similar issue last month, but we figured out it was because Chief thought the uncovered porch below was a room.
  5. CA Premier X14: I'll attach a few pictures showing how the upper eave affects the lower, but title explains pretty much everything. I've tried putting them on different levels (all currently on Attic level), unchecked Attic Wall on all upper wall segments.TIA for any suggestions and help!
  6. Thank you for checking. Yes, .dae works but the rotator tool (for doors) does not work with .dae. I'm afraid the file is corrupt somehow... may just need to redraw the whole thing >:[
  7. Hey Gary - do you use Twinmotion at all? Before this fix, I was able to import the 3DS file into Twinmotion, but now it glitches and does not load. Wondering if you (or anyone reading this) could try it on their end to see if TM imports the file. Thanks!! 1018869933_Exeter-CA.zip
  8. I didn't even think about those being rooms, Did notice their behavior changed when I deleted the upper walls. I'm only two months into CA full time and still learning all the quirks. Thanks again!
  9. Excellent! Thank you so much. I spun my wheels on this one way too long.
  10. Dropbox link here I'm not sure the Parapet wall method will work as it isn't the entire top floor, just the "floor" above the porch. I tried the method as referenced in the tutorial, but it didn't work, either. Thank you for all the suggestions so far!
  11. I'm not sure how to get the file under 14mb, I stripped it down to just the section of the house that is the issue and it's still over 40mb.
  12. No matter what I call it, it still messes up the eaves above. It's wanting me to put a roof over the "room" even though I have the "roof above" and "ceiling above" unchecked. :/
  13. Not sure I worded that right. CA X14 - I have a front porch with a half wall detail above for a modern look. Chief thinks this is a room (marked as "Unspecified" in dbx) and so does not complete the eaves on the adjacent walls. Is there a work-around for this or should I just stick a 3D solid to it and call it a day? Pictures with and w/out a roof to show how eaves react. Unable to upload .plan file due to size.
  14. I'm using Premier X14 and wondering if there is a way to export one of the rendering techniques into a program like Twinmotion? I'm wanting to show a future detached garage as a line drawing or clay model. This may be a Twinmotion question, but thought I'd start here. Thank you
