Thanks.... Just learning and trying to figure out how best to incorporate what I know with other software and this software. Hopefully to accelerate my learning curve. I did use the import issue but as you said struggled with scale. I will keep playing with it. Was hoping there was some trick.

Hey everyone, As you know I am still new to this program. Before acquiring Chief I created a number of designs in photoshop. Wondering if I can import those designs to uses a background so I can see how those ideas translate to chief. Another Question... Is there away of changing my floor plan to a background so I can use it as a template for a future design....or import to photoshop and such I can't use the template feature because that saves everything wall heights and such. TY in advance.

I am confused. It is about Chief. I am wondering after you design a floor plan what do you focus on next "in the software" designing the roof? basement? I am just curious about the process of designing a home with this software. Once I have the floor plan done what do you guys do next. It may be an ignorant question and I am probably not wording it properly. Just learning.

Hey everyone... Student here....I am just dabbling in this and want to see if its something I want to focus on. I have designed some floorplans and really loving the program now that I am getting the hang of things. I have used a lot of Adobe software. I have watched a lot of youtube videos. Once you have the floorplan down. What is the next step? What do you focus on next? Like I said I am very new at this and have had no education on this software but I know I want to get into the field of designing things. Just not sure what field. Just point me in the right direction.

Ok...So I got the dimension to work when working on a specific wall. Its the T <----> tool on the right not checked. So that is what I had off. Turn off - auto dimension and turn on T <------> Thank you both. I wouldn't have figured it out without your insight.

Thank you both... So here is what my page looks like. To better explain... The way it used to be is it was showing the exteriors dimensions or interior dimenstions. Then when I clicked on a wall to modify it would show those dimensions to adjust and modify. Now it seems to be showing interior and exterior dimension and now when I draw a new wall it shows me no dimensions. Thanks in advance for the help. I am going to try to create a new plan and see if I can do a side by comparison to find out what it off. Attached is a image what it looks like.

Thanks... Is there away of completely going back to default. In my effort fix the dimension issue I now have all sorts of things messed up.

Hey everyone, New here....and a student So I was going forward and creating a plan and everything was great. Next thing I know ALL the dimensions are showing. It looks like the matrix and my brain hurts. I tried help section and tutorials and everyone show how to use dimensions but not how to turn them off. Now everything is all screwed up because I can't even show dimensions on a new wall while matrix is still showing up. I have tried resetting defaults but nothing. I am about to uninstall this and reinstall it but how did I get here. Everything was great until it wasn't
