  1. Thanks Mark. So the key is to make it a stair landing and not a deck level?
  2. I frequently design decks but only use CA to create 3D context for use in another CAD app. It would be great if I could at least create the conceptual phase views in CA, but it seems as though I always run into one issue or another and can't get CA to draw what I want to show. In this case: 1. Automatic breaks are created in the railing where stairs pass over retaining walls/ 2. Short single or double step downs. 3. I tried the manual newel post move tool, but it doesn't work on the ends (doesn't adjust the rail length. I tried creating a break or door opening, but the end of the rail snaps to the corner points. 4. In general, I can't get the newels located here I want them. Seems like all training videos are simple straight rails without level transitions. I found one interior video that discussed manually placing rails, but some of the techniques don't apply to deck railings. If someone can share a tutorial video link, or create a video showing how to draw railing in my plan, please do so. Or do I I just need to draw manually? See my attached plan, images, and plan diagram of the rail layout I am trying to draw. Deck 1.1.2.zip
  3. I have a retaining wall that passes under a deck stair landing. When displayed in the plan view, the retaining wall shows on top of the landing. See attached plan file and image. In another part of the stairs, I you will see another retaining wall that passes under a run of stairs, but does display correctly with the retaining under. Is there a way to get all retaining walls to display under the stairs and landings? Also, automatic breaks are created in the retaining wall where it passes under the landings. Anyway to over ride this? Deck 1.1.2.zip
  4. My deck border is set to 2 planks but is not displaying as set. See attached image and plan file. Because the auto railings do not build as I would like them to, I originally drew the deck without railings, and with the intention of adding them later. The borders did display in my original drawing, but must have changed while I was experimenting with adding and manually adjusting the railing. I also tried deleting the deck and then copying and pasting the deck from my originally plan file. Deck 1.1.2.zip
  5. What determines the bump push distance for a window or door and can the default be adjusted?
  6. I am trying to draw an odd shaped driveway using the polyline driveway tool, but can't get it to snap to the edge of the spline road. The corners will snap, but not the arc. See attached video screen shot and CA plan. Please help. Cepican-Existing 2024-12-05.zip Spline Road and Polyline Driveway-Screen Video.zip
  7. Thanks Michael. That's definitely a good workaround suggestion.
  8. I have one portion of a roof with an overhang/soffit that extends 2 or 3 feet further than other adjacent roof planes, but the soffit does not extend to the house wall. See attached site photo and screen shot of my current model. Please help.
  9. Is there a way to mark Library items as favorites?
  10. I'm using x15. I have contacted support and will follow up here with a note about the result. Thanks
  11. Thanks for trying. I will send the issue to support if needed.
  12. Hi Eric, See attached plan file. My Template 1.0.plan
  13. See attached image of Chief door component with the exterior door hardware not sitting on the face of the door, but sitting slightly under the face of the door. I doo not see a door hardware placement option for this one. Please advise.
  14. Thanks for your response. I have the roof trim layer unlocked but can't get the molding line to edit.
