What's so confusing is that the two areas are just about on opposite sides of the house. One is interior and one is exterior. There are a few different rooms between the two areas and they act as their own rooms. There are no walls labeled "no room definition" and I went around detached and reattached all the walls. I will keep messing with it and if there are more suggestions, please share. Thanks again everybody..........for all your help!!

Hello Everybody! I have a house plan with a walk out basement that leads to a patio at the same basement floor level. The basement is partially finished with an unfinished mechanical room on the other side of the basement. When I double click in the exterior patio to open the room specifications, the mechanical room is attached to it too. So when I change finishes in the exterior patio, the same changes happen in the mechanical room. Any idea of why this would be happening? Thanks everybody.....for all the help!!!

Hello Everybody!! I am trying to send a 3D image of a house I did to the layout. When I send it to the layout, the image looks fuzzy as compared to the image in the perspective full overview. I just bought my computer and told them I would be using Chief Architect and creating 3D images and they said the video card is more than enough for what I will be doing. Are there any settings in Chief Architect to help improve the image? Thanks for all the help!!!

Thanks everybody.....I will give it a shot. I also tried creating a spiral stair starting with a curved set of stairs. I adjusted the height from floor to floor and then made a few other adjustments to the radius etc. It seemed to work pretty good. Just another option for this topic

Hello Everybody! I'm using CA Premier X6 and I adjusting everything I needed to in the defaults for my window schedule. When I bring the window schedule into the drawing, it's showing wrong rough openings as compared to the size of the window. For an example: I have a 28"x28" fixed window in the schedule but the rough opening calls out 40"x28 3/4". Any ideas of why this is happening? Thanks for the help!

I apologize for my ignorance but I'm not sure where the ceiling hole tool is. If I go to "build / floor / hole in ceiling platform", it doesn't seem to work. I draw the polyline but the hole doesn't show up in the vaulted ceiling plane.

Hello Everybody!!! I created a vaulted ceiling in a screen porch using the ceiling plane command. I need to put a hole in one of the ceiling planes. How do I go about doing this? Thanks!

I tried that but now I cant seem to figure out how to make it solid. It just creates a picture frame. I tried changing the molding and also the height of the molding. What am I doing wrong? Thanks again!!

Hello Everybody, I'm trying to show an arched brick soldier course detail above a window. I created a solid arched polyline but when I put a soldier course pattern in it, it doesn't follow the arch. Whats the best way to show this? Thanks for all the help!!

Hello Everybody! I'm working on a set of plans for a builder. I created a cross section and when I sent it to the layout, it will not allow me edit the layout lines. The layout was emailed to me from the builder. It works on the elevations on a different sheet in the same layout but not on the cross section. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello Everybody! I'm working with a builder who started putting together a set of home plans and wants me to finish them. He told me I need to import his annotation sets, layer sets, and wall definition files. Wouldn't these already be associated with the drawing file that he sent me? Or do I still need to import them? Thanks for the help!

This is what happened. When I went to send the completed elevation to a layout, I got an error message and it closed down chief architect. When I reopened chief, the elevation was gone so I created another one of the same view. When I was done with that one, I saved and closed it, just to test it before sending it to the layout. When I reopened it, the notes and dims were there, but not the elevation. I sent to a layout just to see what would happen. Only a partial elevation showed up with the notes and dims. When I have the elevation open, event though I cannot see the elevation, I can click on where its suppose to be and it will "high light" but not show up.

Hello Everybody! I created and elevation and put notes and dimensions on as needed. I saved and closed the elevation. When I reopened it, all the notes and dims are there but the house front elevation is not. If I create a new front elevation, the house shows up in that one. Any idea why this would be happening? I guess that was the issue. I reset my arrows to 3" and it appears it works. Thanks everybody.........for all the help!! I'm sure you'll hear from me more in the future!!!

Based on the image above, my interior dimensions look like the bottom dimension line. My arrows are set at 4". I wouldn't think that's too long.

If I run a line of dimensions through several rooms using "interior dimension", I get the dimensions for each room but I only get the arrow at the beginning of the dimension line in the first room and an arrow at the end of the dimension line in the last room. So, 90% of my interior walls do not have arrows. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All settings are set to "both sides" of walls.

It appears I have the dimensions set correctly in the defaults with "both sides of walls" being checked. I'm confused!!

Hello Everybody!! I'm so glad to be back using Chief Architect instead of the so called competitors that I was using!! I love this program!! I have a very simple question that I should know the answer to. When I run a line of interior dimensions through several rooms, why are the arrows only on the ends of the dimension line instead of the arrows being at both ends in each room? Thanks for the help!!
