PJS-59 replied to PJS-59's topic in General Q & A

Printing Elevation using Scale Dimensions, not Actual
PJS-59 replied to PJS-59's topic in General Q & A
I now have 90% of what I need to create the HO model. I used the print option with 1/7" = 1' to print full HO Size elevations. I used the Secondary Format with new " HO Scale dimension to see actual sizes, so I have both Full Scale dimensions and HO Scale Dimensions on the printout. I am now missing 1 component, how can I get the "Roof Plane" dimension for a hip roof? In Glennw's post regarding the "Print Model" in X10, it shows the roof planes. I can not find a way to show the roof planes with actual dimensions. Is this possible? -

Printing Elevation using Scale Dimensions, not Actual

Can both the feet & scaled " be shown on the dimension lines? 1 above and 1 below? -
I like HO Railroads. I am getting started on a new layout and want to build HO Scale Houses and buildings. I figured I could create the building plan with Chief Architect and print the elevations with Scale Dimensions to use for cutting and building the scale model. I have created the first building, was able to set the print scale for HO (1/7" = 1') and print a "Full Size" elevation that I can use a ruler to get measurements from, or use as a template and cut printout and balsa wood together. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to show scale dimensions? Ex house is 50' wide, HO Scale would be 7.14". a 7' high Door would be 1" high on HO Scale model. I have attached the 1st plan file Basic 50x4 Duplex.plan

How to place CAP on exposed basement wall in stairwell.
PJS-59 replied to PJS-59's topic in General Q & A
Yes, I will. I have been going through various training videos and learning. I have A LOT to learn. The Shelf option was exactly the look I wanted in this instance. Thanks again for your help. -

Thanks everyone for the help. For now I am using the simplest option of a "Shelf" and setting the appropriate height. The "Shelf" is just above the stair landing and below the window. So will work just fine. -

I added a cap to the room molding, but it is sitting at "floor" height, and I can not move it down to top of basement floor wall. -

Where do I place the molding? (I am using Chief Architect x13) I tried adding a cap under Wall Specifcation/Wall Cap, but I can't figure out how to get it only on part of the concrete and interior section of wall. -
I have a question on creating wall caps. I have a plan with 12" Concrete Wall w/ 2" interior drywall for the basement exterior walls. The 1st floor has 6" Siding exterior walls. I have a U-Shaped stairs from basement to 1st floor in back left corner. I want to place a wall cap over exposed basement wall where basement meets 1st floor in stair well. How do I handle this? I can't find in documentation anywhere. Sample 3D Picture with red arrow where I want "wall cap".
