  1. I'm trying to calculate the area of my exterior walls minus the area of the windows and doors to fill out some WSEC forms. Anyone know if this is possible in Chief? It's the insulated area of the above grade walls.

  2. Thanks this helped a lot. To clarify I'm trying to have both my Stair Tread & Riser Material Area included in my material list for flooring. That macro worked great for the tread sq ft - any idea on how to calculate the riser material area? It would be nice to set it up in the component defaults for stairs this way whenever they're drawn it will include in the material list.

  3. I'm trying to create a materials list that upon creation shows both the lineal footage and square footage of a cabinet backsplash. Does anyone have any ideas? I can get either the square footage or lineal feet to show but can't get both at the same time. Legth is just "backsplash_legth" and the square footage is "=backsplash_length * cabinet.backsplash_height" Upon placement cabinets have a default component that show the countertop square footage and the lineal legth of the backsplash - would I somehow be able to setup a component that shows the square footage of the backsplash in my cabinet defaults? Note attached screenshots.

  4. So I'm trying to figure out how to setup custom Rod and Shelfs in chief. The stock symbol cannot be used on angled walls and neither can the stock shelf symbol. So usually when I am modeling a home with an angled shelf I just use a 3D solid and set it to my desired height and depth etc. Here is an example of what I mean by angled shelf -

My goal is to setup an item like this that I can include in Mat lists. I would like to calculate the lineal ft of the shelfs throughout an entire model - as well as a separate measurement for the rod lineal footage. Does anyone have an idea of how I would go about doing this?
