Unfortunately, the open and close the text DBX is not 100% for me. I have seen it more since going to a wider monitor. I am using a 38" wide screen. I wonder if that has any impact?

If you have changed monitors recently , then I suspect that is the Issue , I see it only when I open Clients' Plans and usually  I fix it with All Off > turn Text On , and marquee select it all, Open>Ok

I wonder if rather than Resolution if it is related to Pixel density of the screen since I think Fonts are based on pixels?

Seems like it should far surpass the minimum requirements???

Is this a GTX Titan 6GB  from the 700 Series? or 900 Series ( Titan X?) or etc etc....

As the original GTX Titan ( 700 Series) does not support Shader Model 6 which is a reqd. for X13

Being a GTX means it won't support the New View types either as an RTX card is needed for those.

If it is this Card , it only supports Ver. 5.1

    Hi KB

Thank you!!  That makes perfect sense.

No problem :) , though I am not sure why Chief didn't Create an Auto Curved Roof Plane for you as it appears you have Curved Walls......

unless you had gone Manual and couldn't go back , in that case , you can sometime make a copy of the plan ,

let auto roof make the roof plane and the copy it back into the original plan.

By the by - does anyone else get this happening where the rafter material defaults to the roofing material?

Chief Automatically changes the Framing material to the Fascia Material if you have no Soffit Spec'd on the Roof Plane's DBX

as it assumes you want an Exposed Rafter Tail.

Seems like it should be.  Mine is set at 1" increments.  I guess it could be tied to the snap resolution.

Good guess ....> Defaults > Plan > Snap Unit          I have to go in 2-3 times a day as there is no dropdown/quick access method for it

Or Hold CTRL temporarily ( breaks snap) as you make the Clicks to measure something.

    Thanks for all the information.

    A few questions -

Can't read some of the screenshots in the Nvidia Control Panel directions.

1 - In Open GL Rendering GPU - is it the GeForce info?

2 - In the Power Management - is it Prefer Consistent Performance?

In the Windows Graphics Settings -

Which performance option should be used for the CA or Ray Tracing? Windows Decide, Power Saving or High Performance?

    Thanks again,

    .

    .

NVCP OpenGL = should be on Nvidia Geforce Card   if on laptop you might have an option to make it the prefer Card too if the Laptop use Optimus.

NVCP Power = is best on MAX Performance but you may find the Battery dies much more quickly ...

WGS should be on high Performance

    For others:

WGS: Settings>Display>Scroll down>Graphics settings> if you need to broese out to C:\Program Files\Chief Architect\Chief Architect Premier X12 (64 bit) ( or X13) select the Chief .exe file and ok then Options.....

Cross-ship is what I wanted from Cyberpower until I found out, due to shortage of cards, might be 4 to 6 weeks out.  I was able to snag a 3070 so I will probably use the new 2080ti, whenever I get it, to upgrade my other computer… unless someone makes me an offer I can’t refuse on the 2080.

MSI may not be as slow?  I had to RMA a Mobo recently to MSI and it took about 2 weeks though I was told 4-6 weeks like you...

  8. Try setting Chief up in the NV Control Panel > Manage 3D> make the Nvidia the Preferred Card for Chief, Mark has some more tips in this thread from the other day too...

The 1650 won't be able to use the new RT-PBR Views though , they are only supported on the 2000 Series and Up ( 3000 best) in X13 apparently

After contacting nvidia and showing them what was going on, they looked at the date of my graphic card and instructed me to contact msi for an exchange.  MSI suggested I contact Cyberpower, the people who put the computer together because they had a quicker exchange program than MSI and my computer wouldn’t be down for 4 to 6 weeks.

Cyberpower informs me that their exchange program warranty was only good for 12 months and I need to go back to the card manufacturer, MSI.

Anyway, I ended up buying a new EVGA rtx 3070 for $1200, which is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday.

UPDATE: Just checked and FedEx has my graphic card out for delivery today, Friday.  Thank you FedEx!

sounds and looks like GPU Artifacting to me especially the "Green" fireflies , don't let MSI off the hook that 2080Ti is still a valuable Card, get that RMA setup....I am surprised they don't have an Advance RMA though.( you provide CC for a cross-ship and they put a Hold on)

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Very helpful!

If you are going to do it?,  do it now, before X13 releases, or you will pay for a 3 version upgrade , not 2, X13 will come free as you'll have SSA with the X12 Upgrade.
