  1. Is there a way to use boxed headers, but only have the schedule show the structural members and not the two horizontal members that make up the box? It makes your schedule very confusing because it looks like you have a bunch of 2x6 headers even though they are technically part of other headers. Also if you use callouts for the header label it creates a callout for the structural members and another one for the 2x's that form the box. Sorry I'm bad at explaining myself, does this make any sense?
  2. Thanks, I figured something like this would be the way to go about it. Am I crazy for thinking Chief should automatically do this, or give us some control over it?
  3. I think every garage door I have ever seen is not inside the opening. They are installed on the inside face of the wall. Is there a way to make chief architect show the garage door how they actually are supposed to be?
  4. Anyone else have this problem? If you click on it a couple times then it will resize to fit the 3D Elevations. After you click on a couple different pages and come back it looks like this again?
  5. Thanks for the answer. I had changed the layer of my exterior walls, and i figured that was the problem. I just thought surely there was a way to change the default settings for the attic walls!
  6. Somehow I got the attic walls to generate on the same layer as my exterior walls. I can't seem to find how this is controlled?
  7. Just for interest sake, I didn't have any hot keys after the update either. Guess That will teach me to export my custom hot keys to a backed up folder.
  8. I can't seem to find the toolbars. After the last update they went missing.... Am I not in the right place for toolbars in the screenshot?
  9. Thank you I did search before I posted, must have missed that post. that's exactly what I needed.
  10. What is the easiest way to finish an overhang like this? I can't seem to get an attic wall to build correctly here. Is a polyline solid the correct way? or am i missing something?
  11. Thanks for the tips i will use that in the future.
  12. So I just placed another window in that area and it worked. Not sure what was going on but its working correctly now.
  13. Trying to place a window in a stairwell that spans the area where the second floor would be. Its not cutting what looks like the subfloor. Is there something I can do to fix this? I can post the plan file if necessary.
  14. Thanks for the suggestions!
  15. Is there an easy way to duplicate this black and white flooring tile? Or at least something similar?
  16. It's a multi-room house, The Kitchen and the bathroom are the rooms they want to see alternate styles. Thanks everyone for the response! Now I just have to try them and see which ones work best for me.
  17. This has probably been discussed before, but I wasnt sure how to search for it. I'm working on a remodel project that includes a lot of interior design. The customer would like to see several different options in the same room. I was wondering how people handle these situations. Do you create new plans for each different option you show? Is there a way you can just copy the room make the changes and then paste it into the plan? So to clarify what I want is a way to have the same room dimensions but be able to switch between multiple different interior designs. If this makes any sense?
  18. I thought this is where you edited Auto Exterior Dimension Defaults in x12, Did something Change in x13 or am I Just forgetting how to do it?
