I am using Chief's cabinet symbols in my drawing. Typically, the automatic cabinet fillers are a great feature, but I have a circumstance (wall cabinet above a toilet) where I don't want fillers. Is there a way to turn off this feature for one cabinet in my drawing? Thanks

I'd like for the reference grid to display on in my drawing when I print for a client. Is that possible?

After updating to X14, I have noticed that all my cross section and wall elevation callout symbols have changed. See attached. The symbol bubbled in red is how the other four used to look before they mysteriously changed. I assume the mysterious change has to do with updating to X14 since it happened simultaneously, but I don't know that for sure. Anyone else have this issue or have a good fix? Thanks

I often use soffits in showers and polyline solids for shower curbs, benches, etc. To my knowledge you can only apply custom backsplashes to walls, so it's not an easy task to apply to a soffit or polyline solid. My work-around is to apply a custom backsplash to an adjacent wall and move it in front of the soffit, curb, or bench in plan view. Is there an easier way to do this? Thanks!

My backsplash is 3x12 tiles installed straight set (grid). I used the adjust material definition to define them. In 3D, they show correctly in vector, technical illustration, watercolor, and line drawing views. They show incorrectly as grid offset in standard, physical base, clay, and duotone views. They also show correctly in my elevation. See attached. How can I get these grid tiles to show correctly in all views? Thanks!

Thanks Drawzilla. How many pixels/inch would you use for resolution?

My client wants to print each one of my renderings onto large pages (like 11x17 or larger) for a presentation. I plan to do either physically based or standard camera view renderings. Any suggestions for what settings I should use for best outcomes? When I print the ones I have already done on 11x17 and 24x36 sized paper, they are pretty blurry. Thanks for you help!

I'm working on my first walkthough. When my walkthrough path goes through my interior doors, there is always a one-second pause in my video. My doors are open in 3D and show as open in the video. I don't have any key frames at the door. I would like to know how to eliminate this pause. I'm on X13. Thanks!

Hi! I have 90"H walls in a room with very tall vaulted ceilings. For my interior walls, I drew them as railings with solid rail style (so it looks like a wall). My railing height is set to 90," and I deleted the wall cap. The problem is that my door and sidelights look like this - see attached. The door casing and frame go up 90" to the top of the "railing" (wall) instead of 80" which is what I specified the door height to be. My interior doors are specified as 80" tall so there should be 10" of drywall above them. Why is this not displaying correctly? Thanks for your help!

Hi. I am working on a walkthrough video for an art studio that has a garage door. The client would like to see the garage door open in the video. If I open the Garage Door Specification > Options > 3D Display, and click Show Open......the door disappears. Is there a way to show the door open like in this photo?

Hi! I'm working on my first walkthrough and having trouble getting it to continue on the second floor after climbing the stairs from the first floor to the second floor. First, I drew a spline and converted it to walkthrough path. In my walkthrough video the video starts on the first floor and goes up the stairs, but when it gets to the top of the stairs it is suddenly back on the first floor. Second, I tried creating a walkthrough path that goes from first floor to second floor. I have a key frame at the bottom of the stairs and at the top of the stairs. When I click the up arrow to go up to the second floor, I don't see my walkthrough path or key frames at the top of the stairs. On the 2nd floor, I clicked on create a walkthrough path from that same point at the top of the stairs, but it's a different walkthrough video. How can I get one walkthrough video to go from the first floor to the second floor and continue walking through the second floor? Or maybe it's a matter of joining the two walkthrough videos - if so can someone help show me how to do that? Thanks!

My friend and I have been learning Chief Architect over the last year. I was talking to her the other day and realized that we did not have the same buttons on our Active Layer Set Control Toolbar. I believe the buttons should look similar to the way they look on the Saved Plans Toolbar and Active Default Set Control Toolbar. Any ideas as to how I can get these buttons back on my Active Layer Set Control Toolbar? Thanks!

Hello. I am looking to add people to my drawing/3D rendering. All I can find are the "Silhouettes" and "Image CAD Blocks People" catalogs, but I'm looking for something that would be in 3D and in color (not flat gray silhouettes). Thanks!

I need to draw stairs with panel rails on the right side and baluster rails on the left side. How do I do this? I seem to only be able to select one style for the whole section of stairs. Thanks! Chief Architect Premier X12

The tri-section worked great! Thank you!!!!! I wasn't able to apply it successfully from the interior staircase specification box like you show. I searched and found the tri-section in my library browser and "spray painted" it onto my balusters in 3D.

Any suggestions about how I could create these stairs in Chief? I think I'm close to figuring it out with the exception of how to do the opening under the hand rail and then also the metal rail directly under the handrail. Thanks! Chief Architect Premier X12 Build 22.3.0.55X65

L-Shaped Stairs with Different Railings in Different Sections
J_Mack posted a topic in General Q & A
I have a set of L-shaped stairs in my drawing. The top section has a railing on the right and the bottom section has a railing on the left. When I select the top stair section and change the railing to be on the right, it changes the bottom railing (even though I didn't select the bottom section) to have railing on the right. How can I change one section of stairs and not change the other section? Chief Architect Premier X12 Build 22.3.0.55X64 Professional Design and Drafting Software -
Hello. I am new to Chief and keep having the same problem that I can't figure out how to fix. In my plan view and elevation view, my kitchen or bathroom cabinets and countertop look fine. When I go into 3D camera view, I often see lines in the countertops between my cabinets. My base cabinets are snapped into place. Why do I have these lines in my countertop and how do I fix it?
