That will not work unless the overhangs are equal on each side of the garage.  Lengthen the back or shorten the front and it may help with the other problem of the wall heights not being equal.

It is different, but my plan shares the same overall configuration as the home in the picture.  Are you implying that I cannot do this with my current plan?  Thanks a lot.

Howdy folks.  I have not been able to emulate how this gable blends or seems to "disappear" into the hip structure.  I really like this look and would appreciate any help in achieving this design for my plan.  I particularly like how the hip structure appears to bump-out to form the roof return of the gable. 

The auto roof return will not work on the opposite gable end, for some reason but I plan to post that problem in a different thread.  Just thought it might be low-hanging fruit...
