Are you going to turn on that layer while you have the elevation view active?  It uses a different layer set than the plan view.

Actually, I did so that with the layer painter tool I selected all the furniture and set them to Plant-layer because for some reason plants were always visible.
I think this is certainly a good and the best way to do, but I got the wanted result after all. Later I changed them back to their own correct layer.

You may need to post the plan file as it could be an issue with the furniture and not the software.  Check it in the same type display view that it is visible in 3D maybe.

I think my plan file is too large to post. I tried to do it. I'm sure it is not about the software but something that I'm doing wrong.

I noticed an interesting thing. If I will switch off plants, they will anyway be shown in the section view. And when I changed the sofa to plant layer, it was visible on section view after that :)

No trick.  Just figure out what layer it is on in the view where it is visible and then make sure that layer is turned on in your elevation view.

I went Tools - Layer Settings - Display Options. But I cannot see any result even if I will turn all layers on.

If I will select a section view layer set and turn on there all I want, it anyway won't change. I still cannot see the furniture.
An interesting nuance is, that the kitchen furnishing I can see all the time.

Just use the pic you have, click on the ceiling with the rainbow tool to open up the ceiling define material DBX, select texture, under bump map browse to your pic and apply, set bump to about .05. You may also need to change the scale, I set mine to 700 mm X 700 mm. Best if you make your ceiling material unique, otherwise any other item in your plan that uses the same material name will also show the texture.

    Yes, that worked good. Thanks!

  5. When I will try to add it as a photo into the surface of the ceiling, what happens? My outdoor background picture changes to that ceiling tile :) but nothing changes with the ceiling itself.

Photo editing itself is not a problem. I have an Affinity designer and -photo.

Sure, just right click in your User folder of the Library and go to New > Material and make a material using your picture... then you can paint it on the ceiling, or create a separate surface to put it on, whatever works best for you.

Thanks! Seems that it is maybe not possible in my (student) version. Some material adjustments are not possible to handle.

  7. Seems that I first posted in the wrong forum. :(

Most likely I have a simple problem now, but no idea how to solve it.

I have a couple of carpets on my furniture layout. The problem is that on 2d view they look to be on top of other furniture.

3d view shows everything correct. I would like carpets to be under the furniture also on the 2d view. How to solve this?

  8. Today I have another problem to solve too.

With furnishing, I am working on Working Plan View. But for some other purposes, I switched to Floor Plan View Dimensioned.

But I noticed I still have some pieces of furniture visible while other ones are not. What should I do to make those few also

out of this Plan View? I can move away or delete, naturally. But They just should be on the same level/view of other furniture.

At the moment those few ones are visible on every Plan View.

  10. Yes! I did like this: File, Sent to Layout, then those selections look to be like yours, and I changed the scale to 1:50.

Result: The whole everything will be at 1:50. And it is not what I am searching for. Are there some selections or something that I need to do before changing the scale?

  11. Thanks! I went through that, but the problem is that whole everything will be on a large scale. I need to take out that one room only, and present it

in the same layout with a different scale. See the screenshot. Now everything was in 1:50.

  12. Hi! As I am still rookie with Chief Architect, some basic problems occur. I have made a layout of a private house. I have done it on a 1:100 scale on the A3 size sheet.

Now I should take part in it, the bathroom, and make it on the same sheet but on a 1:50 scale. Only that one room with all it includes. I have done that many times with Autocad, but as told, this Chief Architect is still not so familiar to me. How can I do that partial zoom? Maybe it is somewhere in this support section but I actually don't know exactly what to search.

  13. I would like to present the dimension so, that the exterior wall thickness is 200mm, and the interior dimensions should be measured from interior line.

For example, the total exterior length 12700mm, wall 200mm, interior 12300mm.

I have tried to change wall type options, but only I can change about dimension is the exterior dimensioning layer. Any ideas?

    I have X12 Student version / 22.1.1OSX / Macbook Pro

  14. About the name label, I marked with red in attachment.

How to create it, or is it available in some ready templates? That is a little different than in our region, but in this case ok for me.
