  1. Ok. I get it now.  I needed to check the option to Consolidate Unhanded Boards. This will use the maximum length in the Buy List Board Sizes to create the long plates, etc. If you don't check that option the Buy List includes the actual length of the board as calculated for framing (i.e., 69 foot top and bottom plates).

  2. Thanks for response.  I have looked at that. That doesn't control framing assumptions. When I automatically generate framing for walls, the top and bottom plates are assumed be the full length of the house exterior. This is usually over the 20 foot maximum lumber that I have defined in the Structural Materials list for 2x6s and 2x4s. When I calculate the materials for the plan, the Buy List shows these long top and bottom plates at their actual length which is over the 20 foot maximum I have set.

     

    I am looking for a way to influence the framing assumptions that are made to apply a maximum size when defining those framing dimensions.  I couldn't find anything about this is in Help.
