    Are you running 10.10 (Yosemite)? If so, you have to hold the Command key + Left mouse click to scroll.
    I use the trackpad on a MacBook Pro, and scrolling worked for me on 10.9 by just moving two fingers, but when I upgraded to 10.10, it stopped.
