    1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This was a demonstration of ways to use Chief Architect's presentation views to communicate with a client the finished look of a room. It is easy to transform one room to have very different character, depending on the material choices you make.
  2. There is the Extended Tool Configuration, much like there was in X5 and previous versions (we stopped naming it "all tools" some version ago, maybe X3). To access this configuration, go to Tools>Customize Toolbars, and choose the "Configurations" panel. From the list on this panel, select "Extended Tool Configuration" and click <Switch Tool>. Doing this will set your toolbars to use this configuration. I hope that helps to clarify.
  3. Ric Howe started a thread long ago encouraging others to share their Chief Architect creations (usually rendering scenes). http://www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?36571-Time-to-Show-YOUR-GOODIES!!!!!! I wanted to help continue this tradition by recreating the thread here, but with a twist... If you haven't explored it yet, this forum allows users to create image Albums. You can allow others to comment and rate your images, just click on the Gallery tab on the top of the page to see what others have posted or start your own album. I've thrown myself in the ring with this album so that we have an example to start from: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/gallery/album/9-1-bathroom-6-ways/ Share yours too, we are always excited to see what users are creating. Just set up your Album, and then post a link on this thread to share with the rest of us!
  4. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This was the starting point for the bathroom. I think we created the scene to flesh out an image at our User Group Meeting about creating custom cabinetry, in this case, the vanity.
  5. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This industrial take uses elements to represent reclaimed materials, like barnwood, corrugated metal, and diamond plate. Also it includes utilitarian concrete floors, and a vintage industrial style powder coated metal cabinet.
  6. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This one uses natural materials, like bamboo, concrete, and maple to create a subtle and clean look. Probably should have done something different with the shower floor, but we'll imagine it has a nice thick waterproof coating.
  7. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This one is trying to be elegant and simple. I like the glass chevron style tiles from Ann Saks website, and the clean diamond patterned tile in the shower.
  8. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

In this version, I tried to use bold colors to create a more sophisticated version of the bathroom that reminded me of Asian Contemporary scenes I'd seen.
  9. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

I screen captured tile from Ann Saks website to create custom materials in Chief, then applied them and a variety of other materials to create varying looks. This is my version of "eclectic".
  10. From the album: 1 Bathroom, 6 Ways

This was the starting core scene. Everything has been applied a white 'porcelain' like material to emphasize the 'blank slate'.

    Timber Frame Sample

Download the Plan and Layout here: http://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/samples.html This plan was created in an exercise of using layers and polyline solids to illustrate a technique for creating a timber frame home. *Note: Because I am not a Timber Frame Expert, this design is not conforming to any standards or beam sizes. It is up to those actually constructing a structure such as this to adapt their designs for actual building requirements.
