  1. Hi, I want to make concrete terrain stairs on a sloped terrain, and I have managed to figure that out, but I can't figure out how to make the widths graduating from smallest at the top to widest at the bottom. I don't want to have retaining walls (I tried that method anyway and couldn't manage to make it work) and I don't want to use the flare/curve stairs tool because I want them to progressively get wider as one descends, not flare out at the top or bottom. Thanks! I'm using x10 premiere.
  2. Hi, When creating kidney or odd shaped curved garden beds, is there a trick to creating an edging? Whether it be raised or flate, how do I build it so it follows the curve of the bed? I figured out to copy/paste in place, enlarge concentrically and then convert to polyline solid and then change the material but there aren't stone options that looked realistic on a squared off top like that. I wanted a natural stone look. And then I needed a planter edging in a similar look for a terrain region that was straight on one side because it followed the fence at the back and curved in the front. So my concentric trick above wouldn't work. Please help! When I tried to build it using curved fencing and then convert it to the two block high retaining wall style in the library, it was a disaster. Too chunky, didn't follow the line of the garden bed nicely because the curved fencing was in segments that were to clumsy and when I wanted to change the structure of the fence, my options were limited. I'm using x10Premiere.
  3. I'm stumped. How would I create something similar to the picture below? I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I don't even want the posts. I just can't find a trick for making four perfect quarter circles in a stone wall type set up to place evenly around a firepit.
  4. Hi, Is there a technologically sophisticated way of measuring interiors and exteriors? Laser, scanning with a device etc? And in the same vein, is there a way to import architecture plans or videos of a space into the program to streamline the process between standing in a space and having a plan built in Chief Architect? If someone could point me towards links/programs/apps/articles I would greately appreciate it. There must be a better way. Dalia I am using Chief Premiere x10. I mostly do kitchen/bathroom remodels, landscape design and occasionally some interior design or room additions, but in most cases I need to build the entire house or floor for perspective.
  5. Thanks. I thought perhaps it had to do with material regions that I put on the wall but it didn't make a difference. Will have to play around with it. Thanks for all of your help.
  6. Hi, I am fairly new to the x10 premiere and I have a few questions please 1. When I try and use the exterior painter to keep the stucco texture of an exterior wall, but change the color (keeping the roller icon checked), it won't keep the stucco texture. It just appears in Camera view as a plain painted surface. The stucco colors through the library browser are limited so I would like to have the option to add my own colors. 2. When I add a wall niche to an interior wall, the inner sides of the niche (top and bottom) sometimes appear as wood. why is this and how do I avoid it? (niche above bathtub on left in attached image) 3. I used retaining walls as a step to create different levels in a sloping backyard but when I put a perimeter retaining wall with a fence above it, the steps (terrain retaining walls) tried to reach up and connect to the fencing. Is there a default setting that stops walls from extending to connect automatically to each other? I ended up having to shorten the length of the steps far enough so they wouldn't end near the fence but it left a sloping gap on the side of the terrain betrween the step and the fence. (image with fence attached here) 4. How do I set the default wall and floor material regions to be something other than subway tile? 5. And finally, I had a wall on this blue stucco house below, the wall with the black metal door changed from blue stucco to the default beige and would not change back to blue even when I opened the wall specification box and when I tried the material painter. Couldn't figure out why. 6. Can someone tell me why my default wall build gives me this strange line in the middle of my wall with a contrasting paint color? (see photo below) Thank you from a newbie!
  7. Thanks everyone. My customers want plans with clear cabinet measurements. As in the top picture from marcmc above. It wasn't obvious to me how to change label font. I will check that. I am using x10 premiere.

  9. I am doing kitchen designs for contractors and they have requested a simple layer set with cabinet specifications. I have build my own layer set and isolated just walls, doors, windows, cabinets and labels but the text style is unclear regardless of the weight or size I use. In contrast to other programs they have worked with (20/20), my chief plans don’t seem to work for them. Does anyone know of a program that syncs with chief that I could use to provide clear cabinet specs? In other programs I have seen, the upper cabinets are lighter so bottoms can be seen. I have attached an example of the clear image my contractor had used previously vs my image from chief which is unreadable, even though I zoomed in and did a pdf of one small part of the kitchen.
