  1. Hey guys, I'm finishing up a plan where the wall under the porches is siding.  The rest of the house is painting brick.  I've drawn the walls, added the new material from the library, but some walls show up correctly and some show up as siding.  I don't understand.  The hatch marks are even on the plan.  I open the wall and double check them and the type even says "brick 4" with the white painted brick selected as I want. Yet when I go through the steps and then review, the same siding is showing.  I've closed out the program and thought maybe when I reopened it would fix itself.  Not the case.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. I was able to view your plan. It looks great! I have YouTubed videos and gone through chief.  Are you one of the contacts for call-in tutorials? I need to wrap this up.  I didn't have all of my measurements and everything perfectly symmetrical yet, I was trying to do all of that last since the client is still making changes.  I just found out from my contractor that he wanted an exterior elevation asap.

  3. OK, I've tried over and over to change this roof.  I've selected every roof section, lowered the pitch, raised the other sections...they all disconnect.  I have auto rebuild selected yet when I change these pitches, I get an error message that "in order to make the changes, auto rebuild must be turned off".

I just need it to look like the house you shared in your previous comment! That's the exact look, I just can't make it happen.  Why are my roof segments not re-attaching??

    Thanks for your help!

  4. Eric, you've been so helpful.  I drew a 9/12 roof and added the dormers.  The client wants the ridge to be longer, but the roof doesn't need to be a smaller pitch. How can I lower the ridge height (and lengthen the top ridgeline) like the photo that I've added? Any smaller pitch and it looks squatty.

  5. Thank you for the ceiling help! It worked that time. I learn more with each new plan.

On your second response, what pitch did you use that made the porch appear a bit segmented?

  6. I've successfully drawn this attached houseplan with an automatic roof and it was great.  The client requested I move the side porches out by two feet so that the front and side porches were all 8' deep.  This change forced me to move the entire left exterior wall out 2'. Now that I try to auto rebuild a hip roof again, it won't completely build. What is going wrong? Please see attached. Thanks!!

  7. Hi,

I'm finishing up a houseplan and somehow these "x"s appeared in two areas of the plan.  Now the automatic roof won't build correctly.  How can I remove the two "x"s that are there? I use X9 version.

    Thanks!

  8. I appreciate your time.

I read up on exactly what you've suggested before I posted my question.  The issue is that the text (room descriptions and dimensions) size is 6" as stated in your attachment. It's the auto interior and exterior dimensions that are still small. Does this make sense?
