  1. Hello, I work with a team of designers and we have a library of Sketchup components & materials that we use in our chief files. Currently this is all located in our file explorer. Is there a better way to share components / materials with each other? I would love to be able to download a light fixture from the Sketchup warehouse, assign chief architect properties to it, and then my colleague would be able to easily grab that light fixture and put into their model with those properties in place. Currently, we have to import each sketchup object 1 by 1 into our personal libraries. If someone adds a new light fixture into our file explorer, everyone has to go in and add it in their personal chief as well. I'm thinking this would be similar to a 'manufacturer catalog' that a cabinet company may release. Is this available to use even if we are not 'manufacturers'? I would love to have a 'Our company' catalog that we could update & would be synced with everyone's computer. Thank you!
  2. thank you @robdyck & @ericepv; that's a great idea!
  3. Hello! Does anyone know of a good way to model this roof cornice detail in chief? Best idea I can come up with is a polyline distribution path, but am hoping there's an easier way. Thank you!
  4. Thank you, @DBCooper I will look into this!
  5. Hello, Does anyone have a good suggestion of how to quickly change patterns of material textures? For example; I'd like to be able to import a single tile texture & flip back and forth between a brick lay, herringbone, straight lay, etc. Right now, the best way I know how to do this is to mock it up in the Paint program, which is tedious. Architextures has a cool option, but is a paid service. I'd love if there was a native chief way to do this. I appreciate the help!
  6. Thank you @Joe_Carrick & @robdyck, these are both helpful work arounds!
  7. Hello, does anyone know of a way to automate the plan display callout label for elevations? Ex; E1, E2, E3, E4, etc. Chief does this, but its rare that I get the order / amount of elevations needed correct on the first try. Some of my files have a lot of elevations; as I am creating a plan set I often have to go back and add an elevation / take one out & it throws off my order. Not a big deal to go back and change them manually, but there's more room for error when that happens. For example, say I have a plan set with E1-E20 elevations and then realize I need to add an elevation that would be E4.. I then have to go back to E4-E20 & manually add 1 to each of those numbers so they are now E5-E21. I like to keep the order neat so the order makes sense as you are looking at the actual elevations. Thank you in advance!
  8. Thanks @DBCooper, that's a big help. I wish you could specify that different setting for elevations vs 3D views, but this will still be a help in my drawing set up process. Thanks!
  9. Hello, does anyone know a way to make my default elevation rendering technique to be 'Standard' with the 'hand drawn lines on top' box checked? I've attached a snip of the settings I would like to make my default whenever I create a new elevation. When I click the wrench to set this as my default elevation, it will make my default rendering technique 'Standard', but I am unable to keep the 'Hand drawn lines on top' box checked. I appreciate any help on this!
