I've just noticed that these beams don't reach through the second level below. It may be getting a bit complicated for the program?
-
OK. I've worked it out. But I've noticed two things: * the beams aren't spread to the edges of the main non-deck rooms. Is there a way to have them calculated from the edges inwards? * I cant change the default settings for the Deck so it automatically adds a deck. Does anyone know how to do this? I've switched over from HDP and CA settings are a lot more complicated.

Everytime I change a room to a deck, it changes the deck, but puts a slab under it. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? It must be a foundation setting but I can't see what is happening. Also, we do mainly raised homes, so I am trying to set up a default floor system that has the internal setting, but the deck posts. I copied the Deck setting and modified it but it still puts a slab. Until now, I have been using a slab and putting a 1mm thick setting, and adding posts manually.

Can someone tell me how to change the layer types for items like books, rugs, toasters etc? I don't want these items showing in the plan view, but I want them showing in the 3D view. At the moment I have to turn of the electrical or furniture layers in plan view, but then I lose items I want to display.

We mainly design raised homes on stumps. I have been placing my own stumps in the internal section, which is time consuming. Is there a way to replicate a Deck so it has the automatic stumps, but have the inside set up with the internal defaults? Is it also possible to have automatic corbels?

I think I've solved this. I upgraded my Mac to 12gb ram and the images are much clearer. Obviously the integrated graphics cards on laptops need a lot of ram in the background to run effectively. I'll bump it up to 16gb and see how it goes. I looked around at a lot of laptops and they all seem to use the crappy integrated ones. My son recommended Alienware gaming system, which looks like it has the ram (6-8gb dedicated graphics card) to run something like this well. Bit of an outlay though.

I just upgraded to HDP 2018. The quality is nto very good at all. I have attached images of both 2014 and 2018 without rendering on the same laptop and the 2018 is very grainy. I tried both on a Mac also with the same results. I have attached the Preferences for both programs. 2018 doesn't seem to have many options. Has anyone else bought HDP 2018? Can anyone tell me why the 2018 is so grainy?

I have been using HDP 2016 on a Mac and the image and rendering quality has been excellent. I bought HDP 2018 for the 360 Panoramic. However, the quality of the imaging is very low. I've checked all the settings and its on the same computer as the previous version. Also, there is no Final Rendering button that there use to be. The computer runs an Intel HD4000 graphic card https://www.apple.com/au/mac-mini/specs/ Can anyone tell me what is wrong? I have attached a 360 image below.

Are there any plans to have Cloud and 3D models available to HD Pro? For designers and home salespeople, HDP is enough to deal with clients before sending the plan to the drafter, but the 3D would definately help sell homes.

I can use the keyboard to move around, just not the bluetooth controller. The bluetooth controller works fine until 3D mode, then it stops working. But the keyboard still works.

I bought a VR Box to test out the 3D walkthrough function. It comes with a remote control, which works on everything, so I know that's not the issue. However, the remote works in normal 3D walkthrough mode, but seems to deactivate in Cardboard view. You can look around, but not move around. Has anyone played around with this and worked it out? If you had something like Oculus which connected to the laptop, it would probably work better.

I've got my walk-through videos looking very nice. But when the camera is panning outside, the inside is unrendered. When the camera goes inside the home, the lighting suddenly changes to a high-res video. Is there a secret to fixing this? The other option is to cut/paste video shots and blend them.

ok, thanks. Do you know how the CA viewer can be used without a CA Cloud account? Or is the cloud account purchased separately? The one I bought must be registered in a previous owner's name. My HDP 2015 locker doesn't have a Cloud option.
