I am trying to understand the best way to import a location map to a layout...
Does anyone do this all the time??

I have all interior doors and openings to use (2) 2x4 headers... I don't care if it frames on the flat or not, I use for the takeoff. Then my material list is correct. I do my valley boards the same way for stick framing over trusses. I lay it flat on across the trusses up the valley when building. But I use it for the takeoff in CA..

This plan has my way of doing the firewalls for duplexes... Look at the setting closely, much of what is happening is in the wall dbx. Have fun! I would love some feedback on my solution....

Did you do a search on this forum yet?
There was a lot of discussion on this topic recently.
I have done a search. But I am not finding anything concerning CA being benchmarked on different computers. I am trying to find the best computer to run CA as fast as possible.

I would like to know if anyone has seen or knows where to find CA being benchmarked on Mac's or PC's. I am ready to upgrade my computer again, and I am using a Mac trash can now.
But I need a much faster computer, so I am not waiting for CA to work. I use CA 11 and it is very slow!! My budget is more than $10,00.00.....

After you are done drawing all wall's. Break the exterior wall at the firewall and then extend the fie wall to the frame of the exterior wall. After I di that I will auto frame the walls and then open the firewall and retain framing. I then open the wall framing and extend the studs down the size of the floor system. After that, I use a 3d camera and grab the firewalls on each floor and pull the bottom down the height of the floor system. Also, make sure you have the second-floor ceiling system set to 0" hight so the attic firewall frames correctly.
I did a quick layout of this for you.
Hope this helps...

Hi Joe
I am very interested in buying all of your packages except Site Area Analysis also. I want to join subscription service as well. I would like more info on the packages that you do not have videos on, please.
Can you send me a paypal invoice for all of this?

3d warehouse has a large selection of Simpson hangers including 3d hold downs, I usually get them from there as needed. Also if you need a specialty hanger and they don't have it, try contacting Simpson Engineering Technology Department, and say you been to a 3d warehouse and you cannot find a certain hanger there for a project and you need to display that on the 3D model and see if they have it... if not there is a good chance they will make it for you. They just made me a DTT1Z tension hanger I needed for a project, they made it and send it to me within a few days.
Good luckHi Greg,
Can i get a copy of that hanger from simpson from you... I could really use it too... DTT1Z Thank you in advance!!

I created a block of my elevation lines with dimensions and save it to my symbols. When i do a project I insert it to my cross section and explode it, it will stay highlighted and do move point to point grab the first floor elevation line and move it to 0 on my cross section it will snap to the floor at 0 too. As it was setup before hand everything is where it needs to be. If i have changed the floor system or anything else I will adjust it here with its dimensions and grab what ever needs to move at the same time. When done I just copy and paste in place on each elevation view... Works great for me. If The drawing changes I make the change in section first and just copy and paste in all other views. It is quick and easy. I have blocks setup for the typical elevation settings already use so most times I only need adjust the roof elevation marker.
