  1. Sorry for the delayed reply. I finally tried the 'Save to PDF' option which i didnt know about and it saves to PDF perfectly. So I have been saving to PDF and then print from there and it works well. Thanks for the tip. Didn't quite solve the problem but it works around it for me. Another plan I am working on is fine so I must have messed this layout up some how. Thanks Andrew
  2. Hi This is what it correctly looks like in Layout view: However, when I print the text (actually, all text on the page seems to) slide down and looks like this: What have I done wrong? I am guessing it has something to do with the scale of my layout perhaps? Thanks Andrew
  3. Thanks everyone for your assistance. I think I understand now what was going on. Here is a short video of what I found for those who might have similar issues: http://screencast.com/t/lhMJWSSsay In brief: Reset the material used for the walls in the ROOM SPECIFICATION dialog to 'Default' Reset the material used for the walls in the WALL SPECIFICATION dialog to 'Default' Make sure the Wall Type is correct and is using the colour and material required. One thing i didnt expect was that once a material is chosen for a Wall Type, there is no longer any link between the material and the wall material. So changing the material (mine was a custom one) has no affect on the wall. The 'Material Name' in the Wall Type Definition still says the name of my custom material. But it is NOT showing the changes to my custom material. You have to reselect the custom material for the changes to it to apply to the wall. This seems like a bug to me. Either it shouldn't show the 'Name' of the material because the material can change, or it should clear the name when the material changes or it should update the wall type material to reflect the changes to the custom material. My preference would be option 3. Thanks again Andrew
  4. Hi I created a new material and assigned it to a wall. I then changed the material I created to a different colour and expected the walls that used that colour to automatically change. But the walls kept the old colour. I was hoping to be able to change that particular colour so that in one action i could see what different colours would look like across the building. I imagined it to be like 'styles' in MS Word where if you change the Heading1 style it changes every instance when Heading1 is used. Is this possible? If so, could someone point me in the right direction in the manuals or on the forums? Thanks Andrew
  5. Ok, thanks for your help everyone. I am not sure exactly what I did to fix the problem. I created a new elevation (my document had been converted from the DIY version). That new elevation had all the settings enabled. And i got my vector view which is great. So I went back to my other elevation and, lo, the settings were enabled. I can see that the settings are only enabled for the vector view (which makes sense now I do seem to be missing a few lines on the elevation sent to layout but hopefully that will make sense once i fiddle with a few of the settings. Thanks again for the help.
  6. Thanks for all the response everyone. Appreciate the help! I did Send to Layout only my problem is that all the Vector options were disabled. See below. I am only new to this program and have never seen them enabled So i need to do a little searching to see what is going on here I think. Converting to vector should fix my problem.
  7. Hi I am sure I must be doing something wrong because this seems like such an important feature that it must be somewhere. I just want to print an elevation view (see http://screencast.com/t/d10xdX2yKJ) at the same quality that I print a plan view. I can 'Print an Image' but that is just a screen export and so the resolution is no higher than the screen resolution. When that is printed to A4 or worse A3, the text is horrible with smaller text unreadable. How do I: print a high res elevation view or export a good quality elevation Thanks Andrew
