  1. Thanks for the info. Coming from an office that used Revit, I am amazed at some of the holes in CA. But I also love a lot of the built in functionality not available in Revit (e.g. cabinets, better roofs , framing...) Guess I'll eventually figure it all out.
  2. I need to create a footing under my slab without a wall above. I have a special structural condition (Florida Pipe Clay, if you've never heard of it consider yourself lucky) that requires extra footing under the slab to strengthen it. I can get it to work under the main slab but when I run it under a lowered slab (garage or porch) short wall protruding out of slab up to the "main" floor level. How do I remove the foundation wall above and leave only the footing?
  3. How do you create a wall section tag that will display the detail number and sheet number of a cad detail from a layout page? I know if you create cross section/elevation view on a plan you get a 2D section of the 3D model and if you put that view in a layout the section callout on the plan will automatically update with the detail number and the sheet number, but how do/can you do this with a generic detail on a layout? I have a hard time believing that this can only be done manually. And yes, I a newbie...
  4. Oh! you have to do it from a plan view. Thanks.
  5. I'm playing with a trial of Chief X8 and ran into something I cannot figure out. I found a bunch of different vents located in the "Core Catalogs; Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing; Ventilation" section. I can place gable vents, roof vents, foundation vents, etc. but I cannot place the "Attic Vents" (what Chief calls Louvered Gable Peak Vents). Is this a special process or a limit of the trial?
